Re: "The Tracks Of Our Years" CD

Thanks for the info Roy!

Is this first time Searchers have been in a recording studio since Hungry Hearts in late eighties?

Re: The Box Set

Looks like a nice set but i wont be buying it. I already have the 30th and 40th CDs. So will just download the odd few tracks that i don't have already. One thing it does highlight is just how little the Searchers have recorded in the last 30 years of there career - only 6 tracks on this set from th...

Re: Rarity

Hopefully I can repost with a better sound quality has a friend who is more into tech stuff than I am believes he can improve, I actually think quality is not bad consdering this was just a someone recording them with a reel to reel taperecorder back in 61/62.. Can't hear much of Frank Allen on it ...

Re: Searchers Concert Recent

Criticisms of the sing-a-long aspect of the Searchers performance aside, they are still the very best sixties act still performing :D
get along and see them if you get a chance!!

Re: Searchers Concert Recent

Rob, I have to agree with everything you said. I prefer the hits to be sung in entirety as that's why I go to a concert. And nothing more annoying than when the amateuers in the audience are invited to sing along! In fairness to The Searchers, this 'practice' seems to go on in quite a few co...

Re: The Corporation

could listen to this 50 times and still not associate it with any of the acts listed! I hate the cheesy keyboards - the eighties has a lot to answer for! I see the group is subtitled the Travelling wrinklies. Is this a mickey take on the Traveling wilburys? If so it must be later than 1986. Travelin...

Re: Searchers Concert Recent

Always enjoy their concerts but for me I prefer the present line up when they do numbers not associated with their 60s past. Think your just too familiar with the material Roy! I still like the sixties stuff best, my favourites are four strong winds, what have they done to the rain, take me for wha...

Re: Rock This Land

I always thought it was Eddie Roth singing the main vocals on this one. I certainly seem to remember him singing it in concert a few years ago. (unless im going mad :D )

Re: When is the Searchers 50th Anniversary?

...which means that classic line-up only existed for two years. For about the same two years as the following (with Frank Allen instead of Tony Jackson) and less than any of the others. That's interesting — like, the line-up with the shortest period of onstage "life" creates the biggest p...

Re: When is the Searchers 50th Anniversary?

Surely they must have recorded some tracks since hungry hearts in 1988? Actually Rob they haven't, they did do a studio recording of Can't Cry Hard Enough with the hope that it would be released, but sadly it wasn't. The only other studio tracks were two songs recorded for a German Compilation call...

Re: When is the Searchers 50th Anniversary?

Classic four man line up of * Tony Jackson: Lead Vocals, Bass * John McNally: Rhythm Guitar, Vocals * Mike Pender: Lead Guitar, Vocals * Chris Curtis: Drums, Vocals came into being in feb 1962 so I suppose technically it could be 2012 looks like I have changed my mind now!!! regarding the Cd - wish ...

Re: When is the Searchers 50th Anniversary?

Thanks for that Roy, 2013 sounds right to me too.
Would only be tempted to buy the 4 cd set if it had some rarities or new tracks on it.

When is the Searchers 50th Anniversary?

In 1992 we had :-
The Searchers 1962-1992: 30th Anniversary Collection
then in 2003 we had :-
The Searchers 1963-2003: 40th Anniversary Collection

So when will the 50th be celebrated? 2012 or 2013, Just curious. not that it matters much. Either way is pretty close.
