Re: What kind of bass amp do you use with your Rickenbacker?
I used to use an old SVT & 8x10 cab but alas...one gets older and the old bones don't work like they used to. Now I use an Eden WT800 and two Eden 8x10 cabs. Killer sound though...Same weight(maybe more) but in smaller pieces.

Re: Trivial vintage hardcase question
I've been down this road before. My experience was that a 4001 is a bit snugger in a Fender reissue brown case than the typical black tolex Fender case....which in fact still does have the orange lining.

It's break time and I'll tell you what. This bass with those lower impedance pickups are kicking butt!

Well I have the 8.6k & 9K pickups, new strings and a bunch of shiny chrome on it now. Should be an interesting show tomorrow night!

Re: 4003 Pickups & Impedance
Thanks for the info. It's hard to believe that there is so much difference in 4 years of the same pickup design. I guess I'll be putting the '89 pickups in the' 93 bass!

Re: Now THIS I like! (gloss walnut bass)
I really like the new basses(love this one) but every time I see one I can't help but dislike the lines of the pickguards. They seem bumpy and lack fair curves. ...they always have been like this, ever since the "new" 4003 has been marketed...many forumites noted that already...seems like...

4003 Pickups & Impedance
What's preferable on a 4003? A neck pup that's 14.7k or one that's 8.86k? A treble pup from a 4003 that's 12k or one that's 9k? The reason I'm asking is that I have my 93 4003S apart changing black to chrome. The pups that were in it are the higher values but I have some older ones that came from an...
