Re: The Forum CD Project is ON!

I am trying to find out what is going on & wont act untill I have spoken to Peter & Gary, if I can get hold of him. I have a master CD with me. As far as artwork goes, then as things stand, unless Gary knows otherwise, there isn't any....this could be the problem. I also have used a standard...

Re: Gary Moore

I saw Gary Moore live not long ago (weeks) & I must say that he is an absolutely stunning guitarist....BUT!! He tries so hard to be a blueser, but he just can't help himself...too overdriven, too fast & too many 'metal' riffs mean that he just doesn't quite convince me. He played a Les Paul,...

Re: Singing correction

I have the Antares autotune software, but use it rarely. It is like a lot of processing, sometimes it works like magic & sometimes it is almost useless...it all depends on the initial quality of voice recording & the amount of time you put in to set up. When recording vocal takes, if you hav...

Re: Multitrack recorder suggestions?

I feel so useless on these questions, as the difference between whats available in the US & what is readily available in the UK, seems to be vast. It also seems that every week, a new piece of kit comes along that promises the world. I would advise you to look for something with plenty of output...

Re: Recording The Great British Blues Band

Sorry it's taken a time to respond Peter. With regard to the recording technique of combo vs 4x12, then if you take the attitude that you should get the sound right before you mic it up, then no...nothing has changed at all. I use the same equipment & technique as I have always used. The additio...

Re: Spotlight On - The Great British Blues Band

You are all so kind....I really apreciate it. These questions came at a time of potential change for me, so were quite thought provoking on my part. Peter, thanks for your kind words & it is interesting that you consider the GBBB to be better than the Carnivores. I agree & so do most others....

ROBERT CRAY

I have a lot of favourite blues artistes. My very favourite 'classic' artiste is Albert King....intermediate is without doubt Roy Buchannon, but out of all the great contemporary artistes (of which Buddy Guy, Albert Collins etc are close, close contenders), my favourite has to be Robert Cray. I list...

Re: Freddie King

I love Big Legged Woman too....we're thinking of doing it in the set. The great thing about Freddie King, is that he was also an entertainer. Great voice, great gtr & great stage craft....put it all together & you have something really special. George....Albert Collins is one of my VERY favo...

POST 2K

My 2000th post. As most of you know, I've been away for a while & a lot's changed...new look forum, new topics & new members (which I belatedly welcome). But the one thing that hasn't changed is the friendliness, integrity & sincerity of the members of this king of forums. I didn't think...
