John Hall mentioned (someplace) that new instruments would use new identification technolgy. Although I don't remember if he was explicit about what, I had the impression he might have been embedding an RFI chip someplace in the neck or body.

The 12 saddle bride is standard equipment on the 660/12 models (and it was on the 660/12TP). My experience has been that swapping out the six saddle for a twelve saddle on both of mine was goodness. I had read that story when it was published (I don't generally read that magazine, but I'll pick them up when they look like they have stuff in them that interest me and McGuinn and anything Byrds still does - if it is new material).
