Re: The Book is alive!

Paul,

Just picked up a copy of your book. Great read, wonderful photos, nicely organized, my favorite Rickenbacker book. I have been dragging it back & forth to work just to keep exploring all the interesting information. Well done sir, a masterpiece.

Regards, Gary

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for the kind consideration, but no apologies are necessary sir. It was all good until you posted the photo of that beautiful bass next to mine. Is that beauty yours?

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

Hi Jeff, I just saw your post asking about the way things appear to line up on the bass. Just so you know, even though I ponied up a pile of cash for this girl, no worries on parade rain. Open debate about our passion is one of the reasons I enjoy visiting here. After reading your post I opened up t...

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

Hi John, Thank you for the kind words. I was really affected by the loss of Ken Joseph, such a sweet man. It feels good to be back and to see all the friendly faces. It appears my timing was perfect, walked right into a lively debate. No worries, I had my helmet from back in the old days which comes...

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

I was finally able to get some shots of the Guitar Center 4001s I just picked up. Bit of a computer dope here, hope these come out okay. As I stated before, I pulled her out of the shipping box ready to go. This bass is a beautiful piece of work. I flew her at rehearsal the day I picked her up and p...

Re: GC Rickenbacker 4001S Special?

I live within striking distance of two Guitar Centers in the Detroit Michigan tri-county area. I stopped at the Roseville store to see if they had or could get the new 4001s. The folks there went to work right away to get a bass for me. They gave me a great price on an Ampeg SVT I traded in on the b...

Re: GilFest®

Hi Gil! Great idea, however they know I've been "sick" for years! Hey Jeff! You are spot on about being ready. They were just finishing the building as we unloaded last Sunday. They have a huge PA and lighting system that has yet to be set up and tested. This could be a real clown show thi...

Re: GilFest®

AW ****! Ken, I'm afraid I may be out. I play in a Worship band at Heritage Church in Macomb Township. They purchased a new facility a year ago and are having a grand opening Sunday. I thought I was safe but I've just been told we are having a dress rehearsal Saturday afternoon. I'm going to try and...

Re: GilFest®

Ken! WHAT?!!! Me organize something? YIKES! No worries sir, it's just a thought, if you are able to get our own space that would be better. With the throngs of screaming super-models at our shows it can be hard to talk. Besides, I don't see a single Irishman on the guest list. HA! BTW Ken, can I bri...

Re: GilFest®

Ken, If I may, a thought on an evening/jamming activity. A trio I jam with is playing at a local stink-hole Saturday night. It's called Kelly's Irish Tavern, located on Hayes just south of 19 Mile in Clinton Township. All would be welcome to eat, drink, jam, sing, or throw fresh vegetables. The band...

Re: GilFest®

Hi Ken, First let me say thank you for offering to host such a great opportunity to meet some of RRF's motley crew. You are a noble soul inviting me to attend. Seems every time I see you, you are either working on a bass for me or delivering a guitar for me. "Lemmy" has been asking for you...

Re: SVT rig, on it's way to Israel! :)

Thank you Ron for the SVT primer. Great stuff. I was thinking I would only have a qualified tech, if I can find one, repair my amps. Now I'm thinking I won't even change the tubes myself. Sounds like it would best to have a tech do a "tune up" every few years. I have yet to have a problem ...
