Re: Introducing the Al Cisneros Signature 4003S

I got one of these today. Don't think I would have paid asking retail of $3300, but at a much discounted price of under 2K I was happy to get it. Aesthetically I like it - a lot. Many are put off by the green inlays, but I like different. The walnut is beautiful and a joy to hold. While I respect Al...

4005 Gig bag or case

Good afternoon, The only case I have for my 4005 is a really cheap Fender Gig bag. I have some other nice gig bags going unused, but it's a little bit too long for them. Can anyone recommend a good quality gig bag that would fit a 4005? If not, any leads on a where to find a HSC? This bass is too ni...

Re: Price Check -'73 4003

Hey there. Thanks for the input. I guess I did not subscribe to the thread when I originally posted and I thought no one had replied. My bad.

When I get my hands on it to shoot it I'll post pics here.

Price Check -'73 4003

A good friend has decided to sell his '73 Mapleglow 4001. Original owner, good shape. No CB binding, but all original. He's asking me what he should ask for it. $2000? Any input is appreciated.

Re: tell me about 80's 4003s

I own a 1986 Ruby red 4003 and it is the best Rickenbacker bass I´ve ever played. I bought it as a back up for my 4001c64 but I play it more than 4001 :) The neck is great, very comfortalble, no tail lift because there are extra screws. I think that the truss-rod adjuster at the body end is not tha...

Re: Shell Pink 4003?

Glad i'm not paying your insurance premiums! That's a great variety, there. Is the longhorn with the f holes an old Dano? That's an interesting bass. The body is from a Coral Firefly acoustic guitar. Coral was made by DanElectro. The neck and pickup is made by Hagstrom, also from the late 60'...

I'm sure it is. If not, that one bass would clear up all my debt! I use both those Fenders quite a bit - great basses.

Re: Shell Pink 4003?

smallguit.jpg That's the same way I'm leaning Andrew. Since I have not been banished for even suggesting it I'm guessing some others may agree. I don't have an individual shot of my '61, but am posting a group shot I had for insurance purposes below. It's obviously the pink one - right next to my '...

Re: Shell Pink 4003?

Not a bad idea, but of all the many Rics I've owned this one sounds the best, hands down. Don't know what it is, but no other Ric has come close to the tone of this one for me.

Shell Pink 4003?

Hey Everybody, So, my '87 Ruby Red/BT 4003 is in need of some neck work. I'm saving my pennies for a trip to Paul W's shop for the needed repairs. While I've always liked the ruby red finish, I'm kind of done with it. Silly, I know, but it feels like a color I got past in the '80s somehow. If I can ...

I've been eying this one. Although it is far from original, I really like it.

Hope I can make it this year. I'm playing a lot these days so scheduling is tricky, but I'll do my best to be there!

If the date works with my schedule and I can attend I'd be happy to provide equipment as well.
