Educate Me - George Harrison

Ok Beatles fans - help me build a listening list, please. There was once a time when I had to strictly limit the number of new-release albums/CDs I bought in a month to make sure I could pay rent. Things have changed, and sadly, it's been quite a while since I bought anything other than the odd sing...

May be a dumb question, but what's up with the black/dark areas on the back. Can't really tell in the photos. Poor repairs?

Re: Best Source for Accent Vibratos

In my experience, it works pretty much as well any other non-locking vibrato - Bigsby, Strat, Maestro, etc. Stretch your strings, lubricate the nut, make sure the nut slots are wide enough, and (of course) always tune up to pitch instead of down. If it doesn't quite come back you can pull up gently...

Re: Accent arm fixing

There should be a white plastic (teflon, I think) washer between the arm and screw. That helps. If it still spins, you can put Loc-tite on the screw right before installing it.

Re: Adjustable nut

It have two of his guitars. Hadn't responded as I haven't had a chance to load pictures and I've been here long enough to know you don't just post about guitars without pictures. I still haven't had time for the pics, but here's a link to his site with galleries: http://www.pauleliassonguitar...

Re: Set Up for my 370-12

No experience with them, but I've bought 2 Ricks and a Gretsch from Wildwood Guitars - just a little North of Denver in Louisville. I was happy with the experience all three times. Their business is mostly web orders but they have a storefront and a lot of guitars in storage in the back. You might l...

Re: Help me identify this guitar

That middle pickup looks a bit diffent from the others (magnets aside). I wonder someone they cleared out all of that wood under the pickguard to add that. Then again, if it's a proto, who knows what the order of things was. Having all of those horizontal holes is definitely odd. It looks to me lik...

Re: Tom Petty 660/12 seldom used by Tom?

Petty and Campbell both bounce around quite a bit on what guitars they use on a given song. In terms of Ricks, I think he's tended to use the f-hole one-offs he got a while back: http://www.rickresource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=405846&p=848316 Or his vintage stuff. The last two albums h...

Re: Yamamoto MS-12 12 string guitar

I don't know if I'd be able to play that thing. Perpetual fear of inflicting the first ding. I'm generally pretty pragmatic about the fact that stuff you use ends up looking used, but that thing's in a whole different league.

Very nice.
