Re: What kind of bass amp do you use with your Rickenbacker?

I use a Gallien-Krueger MB Fusion 500 with a GK MBE II 1x15 Bass Cab.
I got the set for a good price, it's light weight and ... it sounds awesome!

Re: Black pickguard and truss rod covers

Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into it although I'm a bit nervous about sanding the only truss rod cover I have for my Ric (but it may be my only option). Hey, I just recognized your name ... you're Paul Boyer! Back in 2013, I met you at Premier Bass Guitars in Superior, CO. I bought a signe...

Re: Tell me about your first Rickenbacker...

I've been playing guitar on and off since I was 4 (now 63). I have always loved other instruments, especially the bass. When I was in high school, I played in a band with a friend who played a Rickenbacker bass (that was something like 1973/74). I've wanted one ever since. In 2013, I bought my first...

Black pickguard and truss rod covers

I got a new Fireglo 4003 in 2013. I love the bass and have made some slight mods to it but have always disliked the "very white" pickguard and truss rod covers. I was thinking of changing them to black. Does anyone know where I can get a black pickguard and truss cover (I think they are ca...

Re: Colorado

We all had a really great time. It was so nice to see some friends who share a common interest in things musical. Dan's store, Premier Bass Guitars, is an amazing store with lots of fabulous basses, amps and accessories. If you live in Colorado, I highly recommend taking a drive and visiting his sho...

Re: Weekly jazz combo sets in Denver

I can indeed give an unbiased opinion of the Mile High Winery and Joshua's band. My wife and I went a few weeks ago to meet up with Joshua, hear his band and enjoy the wine and cheese. The Mile High Winery has a very relaxing atmosphere. As Joshua mentioned, they serve some excellent Colorado red an...

Re: Treble Bezel and Chrome Ring

In case anyone else runs into this situation, I got an answer that seems like the perfect solution. Frank from tubeampology.com was kind enough to do some research to get me the answer.

"... a dab of clear silicone on the corners. No drilling required and no rattle."

Treble Bezel and Chrome Ring

Treble Bezel and Chrome Ring I recently bought a Treble Bezel from Frank Pistorio at tubeampology.com and a chrome pickup ring (#02082) from pickofthericks.com. I removed the original pickup cover and installed the treble bezel and chrome ring. The issue I am facing is that the chrome ring is a bit ...

Re: New Bass, New Bass Player

Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it. I checked out www.studybass.com and it's excellent. I also found scottsbasslessons.com which is also excellent. I think I have a lot of information to keep me busy for a while. I was practicing bass all weekend and it's great fun. The Squier was actu...

New Bass, New Bass Player

Greetings, I just bought my first bass and absolutely love it. Actually, it's my second bass. I started with a Squire Vintage Modified J Bass. I had it for a week and quickly realized that I would outgrow it in a very short time. I spent 4 hours setting it up to Fender specs but it still wasn't what...
