Re: 12 string bridge question
A six saddle bridge will intonate just fine. It's just like a Telecaster bridge with 3 saddles. It's all about getting as close as you can. Have a luthier set the guitar up to that way you want it. It will cost less than the $125 you will pay for a 12 string bridge assembly. You should ever have to ...

Re: The Rockman and the Rickenbacker 660/12
Rockman pedals are nothing to sneeze at! Our own Mitch Easter mentioned that Peter Buck used a Rockman Chorus and Sustainer on some of the early R.E.M. records. On the 1985 live German Rockpalast footage, a chorus pedal can be heard throughout, probably the Rockman. He even uses the chorus pedal on...

Re: Janglebox 3 given a test run
The J-Gate sells for $225.00 while the MXR Smart Gate sells for $130. Less if used. Go with the Smart Gate if you really need to tame noise. The Smart Gate is basically a Rockman Smart Gate that was created by Boston's Tom Scholtz

The Rockman and the Rickenbacker 660/12
So I was going through my shelves and noticed my old Rockman X100 sitting in the back. I decided to try it out again. I had it since it first came out and always thought it had a great clean sound. So I put in fresh batteries (I lost the proprietary pose supply a long time ago) cleaned the switches ...

Re: In The Wake Of Poseidon
I own it but I have to say the following album, "Lizard" is a better one. That is the one that separates King Crimson fans for some reason. The Steve Wison 5.1 re-mix of it is a must have

Re: Will tailpiece change solve my problem?
I have a 370/12 that I am unable to change single strings on. Will replacing my "R" tailpiece with a trapeze from here:http://winfieldvintage.com/parts/conversion-kits.html solve my problem? WILL it be easier to change a single string than with the "R"? Thanks in Advance, Tony H...

Re: Lightshow Bulbs
Is it possible to do a complete LED conversion on the guitar? Or do you want to keep it as original as possible? I think the LED conversion would eliminate the heating problem that affected the original guitars. I also think that would eliminate the multipin connector box for the power to the light...

Re: Flying with 330
You don't think the Hiscox is good enough? I think I would feel better with something ATA approved. Something with metal reinforcement in the corners and latches than lock. You need to remember that the case can (and probably will) fall maybe 6 feet or more while loading and unloading. You want som...

Re: Getting a Vintage Rickenbacker Bass restored ?
Check out these guys in the UK
http://www.kinkadeguitars.co.uk/index.php
They have done extensive work on a couple of Dave Gregory's (XTC, Dukes Of Stratosphear, Tin Spirits) vintage Ricks. Especially his 1964 "RM1993" 12 string which had a broken headstock and missing pieces.

Re: 620/12 tone ??
Cheers Vincent, thanks for the response. As I said, I am absolutely delighted with the sound I'm getting, the issue is really the discrepancy between the chording [rhythm] playing and the tone when soloing, [which is weak & thin sounding]! The Joe Meek unit looks interesting though, would a com...

Re: 620/12 tone ??
Have you looked into getting a Jangle Box? If you do you have re-think your EQuing a bit because set the wrong way the treble on the Jangle Box can take someone's head clean off. The other option is getting a something like this http://www.joemeek.com/threeq.html and put it in a rack with maybe a ra...

Awesome news! Send the Detective a gift card to Dunkin Donuts and/or send the Chief a letter praising his work to recover your stuff so quickly! It will mean the world to him! Regardless of what some may think, cops are people too and while thy don't crave the "atta boys", since they are ...
