Re: Rickenbacker 360/12 C63 - Protoype - Britich Racing Gree
I would love a 6 string version of that 360! My new Mustang is painted a close color and it would be cool to have a guitar to match.

Re: Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown
This clip should put to rest all of the nonsense about how you "can't play solos on a Rickenbacker." i wish all of the naysayers could watch this clip just ONCE. It would shut them up forever! How about the "can't play blues on a Rickenbacker" crowd? It would apply to them, too....

Re: 620 vs 650S
I have owned both, so I will chime in here. Which guitar is better actually does depend on the style of music that you play, at least in my opinion. The 620 has the slim neck, high gain pickups and finished fretboard that most other Rickenbackers typically have. The 650, on the other hand, has a wid...

Don't forget the reverse octave stringing!sloop_john_b wrote:A limited run 360/12SA would be simple enough: A 360/12c63, with an R tailpiece, gold plastic bits, and oven knobs.

Re: The Suzi Arden Show
Regardless of what happened to Suzi's original guitar (I read the entire thread that was linked, and it is a shame that her guitar was turned into a Harrison clone), I still stand behind my statement that she deserves her own signature model.

What happened to Suzi's guitar? I must have missed something, as it has been a long time since I saw this thread.

Re: The Suzi Arden Show
Let's see: Fender has Mary Kaye Gibson has Mary Ford Rickenbacker has Suzi Arden. The difference? Mary Kaye's and Mary Ford's guitars are still available and still in production. I, for one, think Rickenbacker should honor Suzi with her own signature model. Not only is Suzi's guitar different than a...

Re: Ned's Atomic Dustbin
I used to listen that that band A LOT during my college years. Their "God Fodder" album (which contains "Kill Your Television") practically lived in my tape deck back then! You forgot to mention the fact that they have TWO bass players. That definitely gave them an unusual (but c...

Re: Smithereens 1987
I saw them back in 2008 in Decatur, Illinois and they were fantastic! I also picked up the new album, 2011 and I really like the new songs. Their style and sound hasn't changed a bit, which is a GOOD thing!

Re: Lightshow short-scale!
Regardless of the guitar's origin, it's still pretty darn cool. You can bet that the kid who built it will get plenty of attention if/when he decides to take it to a gig.

Re: Rickenbacker Straps?
I got a maroon-ish one as a Christmas gift over 10 years ago for my 360. I have tried using it, but I just don't care for it. It looks like a nice strap, but it just isn't for me. I went back to using a regular nylon strap.

Re: Sad Day for Me
The ONLY good thing about the rich jerk and his girlfriend winding up with that guitar is that they're non-players. That means that when the novelty wears off, as often happens with people like that, it will go back in its case and forgotten about. That is good news for the guitar, since it will mor...

Re: Rickenbacker strings new gauge for guitars ?
I have been using Rickenbacker Nickel Wound 10-13-17-26-36-46 sets for at least 10 years on my 360. I didn't care for the stock strings with the 42 on bottom because I play heavier music than most Rick players. I have found that the heavier bass strings tend to stay in tune better and give more bott...

Re: The "Zachary" 480
I don't think Rickenbacker cares about this guy, he's such a joke... I mean he wants to see a video of your playing before he will even consider putting you on the list for a build, how can you take something like that seriously? I totally agree with you that the guy is a joke. However, be that as ...
