Re: Rickenbacker 365 1970-1972

Some people just like messing with guitars I understand that, if it were mine I'd restore it as a 6 string and hope there wasn't a problem with it that left it unloved and in disrepair.

Re: Will tailpiece change solve my problem?

Hey, half the fun of playing a 12 string Ric is being able to service it. I've had mine for 46 years, I figure at the very least I've changed strings over 200 times. Would you take a Bigsby off a Gretsch?

Re: Will tailpiece change solve my problem?

Sometimes it can be hard to find the slot, the string wants to go into the wrong one, it takes practice to re-string a Ric. I use a small piece (2"x2") of foam rubber to hold the string in place. Try it.

Re: Westerns

I like everything mentioned here, "OX-bow incident" and "My Darling Clementine" 2 great Henry Fonda flicks. Any Randolph Scott movie, usually in color with good stories.

Re: Officially, Do Most Ric Owners Own More Than One?

My post was written in humor, no offense. As a long time Ric owner let me say I love mine it looks great, plays great and sounds great and it never fails to blow minds when I play it.

I had to laugh at these posts. I've had mine since 1969 and you got to be a masochist to have more than one of these quirky *** guitars.

Re: Thicker strings on a 330

Don't know if this will help, mine is a 12 string and when I first got it ('69) the only strings available in Philly were heavy strings 12 -13's the benefits were perfect intonation, the down side was a flat sound (little jangle) and really muscular fingers. It didn't affect the guitar (neck) but I ...

About GC & SA I don't like being treated as a potential shoplifter every time I go in either one of their stores. Put your strings out where I can see them. As for their wares, same old stuff.

Re: What? No Jangle?

This is probably well-known but, Marty's Tele is Clarence White's string bender Tele. Yes, Marty and his band are great, Kenny the other guitarist is as good as Marty.

Re: Keeping our 12-strings at concert pitch

I've played my 360-12 for 44 years at concert pitch even back in the day when I used Black Diamond strings (cables) no problems, still looks, plays and sounds great. Half-step down just a big hassle with no purpose.
