Re: Question about this combo 450(?) my grandfather bought
Your grandfather's guitar resembles the model 650, of which there are a few on the Register. However, the serial numbers of those begin with C6 (or C8), which is the Combo style of serial number. Yours is 2T394, which is in the Capri style of serial number, and would indicate an early 1959 build. It...

Re: Rickenbacker 330 changes
In October 1984 John Hall and his wife bought the company from his father F.C. Hall. The manufacturing techniques started to change then. Also in the early 2000s when the CNC machines started to be used to create the body blanks. RIC started using CNC machines to create body blanks and necks in 1995.

Re: Rickenbacker To Stop Lacquering Fretboads Starting Now
I recently got a 330-12 with the unlacquered board. I didn't really notice that much difference. Here's a few pics for the files. 30007.JPG30006.JPG30004.JPG Ron do the necks need oiling like a unfinished rosewood neck or is that a satin finish? Do they need oiled or treated? It seems to me to be a...

Re: Rose Morris Rickenbacker Gallery
AFAIK, Ron O'Keefe explained the term "moonglo" was coined in the last 15-20 years or so, after a journalist working on an article with Ron called the finish that, and it stuck. Otherwise, it was just referred to as "Autumnglo" at Radio-Tel, which had a few different shades over...

Re: Harrison Reissues -- 425V63 and 450V63
A check of the info in the Register regarding the 425V63 model indicates this example may have been among the first produced. The serial number indicates production in September 1999; all the others listed have the month of production as December 1999. http://www.rickresource.com/register/index.php?...

Re: Help me ID this 350
Your guitar is a 350 Liverpool model in Jetglo, with 24 frets, issued February 1991. Also has non-original "oven" knobs found on late '50s, early '60s models and reissues. Unlike the 350V63 with 21 frets, this guitar is not a reissue. This guitar originally had chrome-top knobs like curren...

Congrats, Peter, and thanks for keeping this site up and running!
I've been collecting Ricks for 25 years and stumbled upon this site in 2002. The Forum (and the Register) have been a valuable source of information and a great opportunity to meet fellow Rick colleagues.
Many friendships formed here.

Re: White corrosion / residue on bridge
You should be aware that those are cadmium nuts and will develop a white powdery coating over time. Not to worry, that's the way they go.
From your photo I can't tell if it's just that white powder coating on the nuts or if there is also darker corrosion.
