Those raised lip Bobbins are made from vacuum form patterns...I recently found out this info from the guy who worked on McCartney's bass at the Rick Factory and also rebuilt and refinished Squire's bass...If ONLY someone could find or make the Vacuum form pattern....I know of a couple of shops that ...

If He was gonna do that to a Vintage original Paisley tele, why didn't he just acquire another Vintage stripped fender body or AllParts or something and do that??? Incredibly stupid if you ask me....Hell...I'd Love to see a RM1999 done in Paisley

I found these pics in an old post but these are exactly what mine are. This is from the same year bass...now after More info, I'm finding that these are the 1st Gen reissues that have magnetic shoes...whereas from 1986 on the are the current one. I did hear somewhere that the horses could very well ...

No, the Bobbins look like Hi-Gain or the Horsey reissue horseshoe pickups. Now a guy on FB told me that the only thing vintage about the pickup is the horseshoe magnets...and thats the pickup was built in the 80's using leftover magnets...Can somebody ask John Hall ???

1984 V63 Magnetic Horseshoe Pickup Question
I was told yesterday on the FB Rickenbacker Guitar/Bass page by a collector that the magnetic horseshoe pickup were NOT leftover from the 1960's....does anyone know whats up with the history of these pickups??? I LOVE this bass..

Love that 4000!!!! Man... I'd Trade My mint unbroken '65 Thunderbird II for that!!! Why don't you just sell the T-bird outright, you will get far more money that way, then, go buy a 4000, and pocket the difference (your profit from the sale of aforementioned TB). :wink: Where would I EVER find a 40...
