Re: rickosound problem

Reviving an old thread rather than creating a new one... 8) If the Rick-o-Sound is just a simple stereo output, then the individual pickups should technically give the same output as when using a mono cable in the regular output jack, no? I ask this because I discovered that when I plug a regular gu...

Re: I Tried Zymol To Wax The Ric

You could, then, use an old cotton t-shirt to the same effect (unless there's something specifically about diapers? ) All our guitar polishing/cleaning rags are cut-up old t-shirts (without printed matter on them, of course.)

Oh! That's a really big difference! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it.

Re: I Tried Zymol To Wax The Ric

What's the deal with Zymol, anyway? Is it a finer compound than Turtle Wax? Also, how does it smell? I love the smell of turtle wax...

Re: Rickenbacker 4003 with bonus cat

Cats really do have this thing...mine does the same. Whenever I'm taking pics of gear, she always has to hang around or somehow interfere. She doesn't match my bass, though (Azureglo cat?) Really nice-looking bass and kitty (and deck!)

Re: Rics and feedback

Funny, I was getting quite an amount of feedback (and squealing) last night at the jam...but then again, we were playing louder than usual. I DID happen to notice last night that my pickups were a bit microphonic. It really doesn't really bother me, though, unless I'm facing the amp when twiddling t...

Re: Teething Troubles With 4001

Glad it's all getting sorted out! Too bad about the unexpected troubles, though. Still, after all's said and done, if you love the bass it was all worth it! Regarding string choice, though, I personally use Rotosound round wounds (finger-killers) and I love them. I love a good, bright sound that I c...

Re: Teething Troubles With 4001

Heya! I used to be a tech and we used to come across the ol' headless screw stuck in the wood problem fairly often. A few things you can do (if there isn't enough of the screw sticking out for you to grab it with pliers): Protect the are around the hole with masking tape to prevent accidental scratc...

Re: Hi, I'm new here!

I've uploaded pics! I had a little photoshoot yesterday and took what I think are finally good pictures. You can see all the battle scars and such (some are actually quite surprising!), and I also have some others that I couldn't upload in the registry for lack of space. I've a few of the electronic...

Re: Rutherford Clank and Gabriel Angel like.

I may regret this one day, but I really hope they can make that happen! Either that or someone will come forward with awesome footage from the early Lamb tour or some obscure Trespass-era gig.

Too bad there are really only 3 Gabriel-era shows with good sound and video out there...AFAIK. I could watch them over and over again!

Re: Geddy being... well... Geddy

Love it! There are so many cool isolated tracks available on YouTube now, I sometimes just sit there for hours and listen to them. I love Geddy's nasty tone. He's one of the main reasons I got a Ric :D

Edit: I'm trying to post a Youtube vid but it's not working! Arggg

Here's one of me at our jam last weekend. I'm posing a bit, yeah, but we had to stop playing for my drummer to snap the (caca cell phone) pic, so...
