Re: Lears

Thanks, Paul. They played Annabel Lee again on Dominique's Electric Candle, Saturday October 4 on WMUC FM. I downloaded the mp3 from the show and its the second song (not including theme song part) after Dominique turns on the FM transmitter. On the unedited mp3 there's about 25 minutes of silence a...

Re: Lears

Paul Mutchler, the 12 string man himself. Can you give us the details of your setup, ie. guitar, effects, amp, etc.? 8)

Lears

Now and then WMUC plays songs by The Lears (Annabel Lee and Electric Mushroom Voyage), which I thought sounds amazing through my Espey tubed AM/FM radio, Pilot 100 stereo demodulator (all tubes) and Fisher 500C amp (tubed) and Altec Lansing 511 horns for midrange-treble and back loaded horns for bas...

Re: Rickenbacker 365 1970-1972

Any opinions on this? I'd like to have a 12 string Rick with a good acoustic sound. BTW, I tried putting a circuit having anti-parallel silicon diodes between two tube stages in my preamp with an adjustable potentiometer in series to adjust between hard and soft clipping for a fuzz effect (based on ...

Re: Rickenbacker 365 1970-1972

I'm trying to make it into a 6 string guitar right now. Maybe its not worth restoring. I looked down the neck carefully a couple times. It might be slightly twisted which might make it useless for professional use (I haven't tried adjusting the truss rods, though). On the other hand I might learn so...

Re: Rickenbacker 365 1970-1972

If this guitar is so important, why did someone take everything off of it including the finish and just leave the body and neck? All the other original parts are gone. I tried out different Rickenbacker guitars in music stores over the years. They all seem a little different. Most of the time I neve...

Re: Rickenbacker 365 1970-1972

I don't like the idea of routing the headstock, either. I was thinking about a bridge with tuners might work for adding an extra 6 tuners like this one here:

Rickenbacker 365 1970-1972

I recently bought a Rickenbacker 365 which the seller said was made around 1970-1972. I put some pictures here: http://sciliterature.50webs.com/Rick365project.htm (first 3 pictures) As you can see, all of the hardware was removed. One question I have is if I were to rout out the headstock to put 6 m...
