Intonation screw size for tapping thread on custom saddles
Does anyone know what size of tap I'd need to tap the thread on custom saddles? Standard 6 saddle bridge intonation screws. Thanks.

Re: Fretting fingers not suited to Ric-style string set-up?
I'll look into that. Thanks. Although, the 1993 Plus has the wider neck. I guess if Rickysounds does one for the 1993 Plus, it might be worth checking out.

Re: Fretting fingers not suited to Ric-style string set-up?
Yes, I think that's it in a nutshell. The traditional set up on E, Aand D should hopefully sort the situation.
I didn't realise some people had actually done this, so it gives me some reassurance. Cheers.

Re: Fretting fingers not suited to Ric-style string set-up?
Thanks again guys. It's strung with 8s at the moment. I've tried the Ric 10s it came with and moved down to 8s. I've played acoustic and other electric 12 strings. It may just be my fingers' anatomy that's the issue. I don't have much padding on the very tips. Here's a G chord. Any more angle on the...

Re: Fretting fingers not suited to Ric-style string set-up?
I should clarify, I approach the strings with fret finger straight on. But that only frets the thicker string and not the octave. I can compensate by angling my fretting finger, but then it mutes the adjacent string. (eg A and D)
Here's a very simple diagram.

Fretting fingers not suited to Ric-style string set-up?
I've had my 1993 Plus for around 3 years now and I just don't think the anatomy of my fretting fingers are working with the Ric-style string set up. Fretting on the E, A and D strings and ensuring each string and it's octave are fretted, are making me have to angle my fingers so much that they are d...

I've a 330/6 and the 1993 Plus is wider all the way up the neck. I don't think a regular 12 saddle bridge would keep the strings a uniform distance from the edge if the fretboard, all the ...

Re: 12 saddle bridge options for 1993 plus
Im not quite clear on what youre going for but the Ric 12 saddle bridge should be just fine. It should arrive ungrooved so you or your tech can cut it for your instrument's precise string placement. Thanks. Since the 1993 Plus has a wider neck, the normal 12 saddle Ric bridge won't have the strings...

12 saddle bridge options for 1993 plus
As per title guys. I'm sure there are bridges out there. I just wanted to know what the general consensus is.
Go for the wider bridges available, or, just go for the 12 saddle bridge made for normal width Ric 12 string necks?

Re: Does Ric 12 string placement make a difference to sound?
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was referring to that 12 string jangle sound that McGuinn acheived. I think I was assuming he picked more and strummed less. I can see how string placement may have some effect.

Re: Ric McGuinn Comp vs JBox sound
I have a black Jangle box running through a Fender Mustang III set to Fender 60's Twin on the treble (bridge) pickup and the bass set to a customized Laney Cub 10 Valve amp. IMHO the jangle comes from the metal finger pics on the G B and E strings....and a whole lot of compression. Essentially, it's...

Does Ric 12 string placement make a difference to sound?
I'm talking about the octave strings being below the...normal string. This is causing me problems with playability on my 1993Plus. I'm pretty much all for having a new nut cut with the bass E and A swapped about to a 'traditional' 12 string set up. I'd also like to suggest that that 'Rickenbacker 12...
