Re: Reacquired My 325v63 :)
Even though I don’t post here much anymore, I had to for this. I remember when you sold this guitar, and I’m glad you’re finally being reunited with it! Especially the exact same guitar. Some people don’t have the opportunity. Congrats on getting your baby back! You’ll find that no time has gone by...

Reacquired My 325v63 :)
Happy to report that my former March 1996 325v63 is coming home! I sold it back in November 2014 due to financial hardship at the time and it was subsequently sold a few years after that. I was friends with both owners and luckily was in the position to finally get my guitar back from owner number 2...

Re: Accent vs Bigsby B5, pros and cons?
There is a reason for the similarity between the Accent & Gibson Maestro - they were both invented by the same man (Paul Butts). They are covered under the same patent filing and functionally they’re the same concept. I don’t recommend bolting a Bigsby B5 to any Rickenbacker because of the scre...

Re: The Rickenbacker Moment That Brought You Onboard
The Beatles.... I'm a 2nd generation fan. I got bit hard by the Beatle bug and once I saw A Hard Day's Night on VHS, that solidified my want for a Ric. But not any, I wanted John's 325. I began researching everything I could get my hands on, including this very forum. I was also attracted to the Ric...

Re: Why Did You Let Your Rickenbacker Go?
I let my 1996 325v63 (serial C9 8351) go back in Nov 2014. Things were really rough financially for my family, so the guitar was sacrificed. That was not easy on me. It sent me into a downward spiral mentally and I was depressed for months over losing my sole electric guitar that I owned for 14 year...

Updating a Registered Instrument
It's been awhile since I've been on here, however I need to update the listing on my August 1983 320 (WH 1212). I modified the guitar by dropping in a new wiring harness (old one was corroded), HB1 in the bridge position and added an Accent Vibrato. I would like to keep one or two images of what it ...

Re: .0047 Capacitor in 620
I'm adding the capacitor to my '83 320. The middle and neck hi gains are fine but the bridge pickup sounds as if it's in a can. It drives me bonkers and will be having that done in the coming days. I am hoping that I love the sound, otherwise I'm dropping an HB1 with push/pull pot and call it a day....

Re: Prince passed...
I only went on lunch break before 1pm ET and come back ten minutes later to see the news blowing up. I was never a huge fan of Prince growing up, but I always acknowledge his brilliance as a performer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. The man was one of those rare talents who spanned several d...

Re: Exploding "R" tailpiece? Fact or fiction?
In general, I love my Rickenbackers, but R tailpieces are about the sloppiest piece of casting work I can think of on any high-end product - and even substantially worse than those on an awful lot of low end products. From what I've seen, most of them should never have passed inspection before plat...

Re: 325 V/C model Owners step forward -Advice needed!
I had a '96 325v63 and it was perfection. Slim, fast neck and the most balanced guitar I ever played. I had to sell it in Nov. 2014 and still harbor regrets because I thought I'd have it for life. When I do get another, if I can't get my original guitar back, it will be a V63. I have zero interest i...

Re: Identification and Advice
One last bit of info to know about. Your RIC has the "Old Style" Truss rod system. They do NOT work like Gibson or Fender guitars. The rods are loosened and the neck is manually moved into position. The rods are then tightened to hold the neck in place. Turning the nuts will not move the ...
