'04 4003FL, Maple Glo
Found one at Music Zoo and they're asking $2199.00 for it. This is what I have been looking for and I contacted the seller, as I don't believe it's under 7lbs. Any thoughts on the price? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks much! https://www.themusiczoo.com/collections/bass-guitars/produc...

Re: Wanna Walnetto?
Gene- :D Very Nice indeed,Stephen! I've wondered what a gold pg/trc would look like on the 4003sw,and the results are great! So,you're also thinking of making it fretless? Woody......I may hold off that project until fall. Having 2nd thoughts about the FB. I may use striped macassar ebony for the f...

Re: Wanna Walnetto?
Yes Gene......I was a big fan of "Bobby Bitman" on SCTV. Count Floyd was Played by Joe Flaherty. I just may convert it to Fretless. I've always wanted a Mid 80's fretless, but are hard to find so..........$1300 bass and $20 for an FB blank and we're good to go. Also not sure if the origina...

Recent acquisition from Bruce at Wildwood Guitars. '17 4003SW @ 8.5lbs, featuring a Tubeampology pup bezel, Pickguardian pg, home made trc and an oem bridge modded by Dane Wilder. Next mod will be a set of HB-1s and a Wilder harness......maybe even an unlined bloodwood fingerboard.

Re: What is the truth about Ric 4003 necks?
I'm a long time Fender user and have had my share of "OK" & bad necks....my current USA Jazz and RB-IV have one piece flat sawn all maple necks with graphite rods....a very stable neck, compared to the other Fenders I've owned. My '14 4003 has 2 pc laminated 1/4 sawn neck that's a bit ...

The 4003S and White Tapes
So I recently landed a used '15 4003S from TB. I installed a Wilder harness with the coil taps at both vol controls and a set of used HB-1 pups. I also strung her up with LaBella White Tapes and was really impressed with the sound of this bass. There are several usable & pleasing tones with this...
