Re: bass clip - Awaken

The buried bass mix is the main reason I was severely disappointed that GFTO (so far) was not going to be remixed/remastered by Steven Wilson...

Re: 8 String Bass Bridges with 8 Saddles

I also just logged in for the first time in a few years. :) I'm still interested whenever it happens.

Since I'm here, anyone have any leads on a replacement tailpiece in black? Mine folded over and my luthier tried to fix it, but no luck...

Re: The Strap

Probably because it's the least discussed part of gear, I've only ever heard of one well known strap maker from the '70's, and that was Ace. And I only heard of them because some anoraks were discussing Jimmy Page's strap from the '70's... :)

Re: Dates announced for 2015 Tour

I've been hesitant to post anywhere about the show I saw (Detroit), because I don't want to come off as raining on everyone's parade. But I have to say it was the weirdest Yesshow I've ever attended, some reasons being obvious of course. Now, I'm glad I went, of course, to at least have some outlet ...

Damn - I was listening while multitasking, and it only every once in a while that I remembered I wasn't listening to Yes circa '74. 8)

Re: 8 String Bass Bridges with 8 Saddles

If this does happen again, I'd be interested in two (one fundamental first, one octave first). :)

Re: The Book is alive!

I recently got the book as well. I was really optimistic when I first heard it was a possibility, and when I finally had it in my hands I was thrilled. I love books, and I love Rick basses, so I'm glad this happened. :)

Re: The ol' 4003/8 tailpiece lift...

Thanks for the replies. I suppose I could keep this tailpiece and work on it at my leisure (although I'm a truck driver, which means I don't really have much real leisure time...), and pick up a chrome tailpiece in the meantime. From what I've quickly researched, they're a ton more common and thus a...

The ol' 4003/8 tailpiece lift...

Hi all - long time member, but very infrequent poster (especially the last few years). Right off the bat, I guess I'm just looking for confirmation that the following picture ain't good: http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb25/relayer_photos/Gear/IMG_1221.jpg I don't think it's a disaster (I've seen...

Re: Who inspired YOU to get into Rics?

John, that is one of the best threads EVER. Thanks for posting it here, I spent 2 hours reading it! Steve, I think it was posted here before and that's how I became aware of it. I check it every day or two to see what new info Russ posts. Interesting indeed. Glad you enjoyed - sorry about the 2 hou...

Re: Still Raising Goosebumps

Chris, I saw Wakeman live on his 1996 solo tour. He mentioned that, when moving, he discovered a box that had all of the CTTE outtake reels. PLEASE, Release, release them!!! THAT, probably to most of us, would be one helluva Holy Grail!! The only thing better would be individual multitracks...

Re: Still Raising Goosebumps

For the sake of expediency (gotta hit the sack), I'll just say I agree wholeheartedly with Jim's post (although I would like to know all the minutia regarding EQ settings and the like 8) ). Is it VH-1 Classic or something similar that goes into the studio with famous muti tracks and has various peop...
