Re: Peter Buck Reverb interview
Thanks, Werner. I only wish the interviewer would have asked him more questions about his gear on the early records. Still a fascinating read! I'm a couple years late in reading this interview -- thanks to Werner for posting it here, and to David for linking it from his page! I found a minor revela...

Re: Peter Buck Reverb interview
Yep! That was the show! I didn't know anyone got it on YouTube, thanks for sharing it. And yes, they played the Happy Dog in Cleveland while they were in town too, but I couldn't make that one. Peter used a very spartan signal path for that show, just a Boss TU-2 tuner, ProCo Rat and one other smal...

Re: What about Peter Buck?
I recently found a seller on eBay that machines brass Starz style bridges (https://www.ebay.com/usr/mrmachinst1), like the one on Peter's 360. I used a Winfield Vintage Tune-O-Matic base and had to shorten the studs, then I used brass washers and brass acorn nuts to lock it down. I think that Peter...

Re: Rickenbacker 340
Thanks for the replies. I’ll just take a pass on this one and get a 340 in good shape!

Re: What about Peter Buck?
Peter Buck's brass nuts and bridges are STARZ parts from the 1970s. Whenever they find some, they convert another of his Rickies. Source of this: Dewitt Burton while showing me Peter's burgundy 330 which has one of these brass bridges. They're not being produced since the 70s either. Thanks for the...

Rickenbacker 340
I'm looking at buying this 340 online from CA. It looks nice except some checking on the laquer. Its a 2008 guitar. Why would that have happened to a 10 year old guitar and should I not buy it because of this issue? Can it be fixed properly so as not to hurt the value?
$1900

Thanks.

Re: What about Peter Buck?
The bridge and pickups on his guitars appear to be custom. Any idea what kind of bridge that is what kind of pickups? Pickups are stock Hi-Gains. The bridges are brass, and I can’t remember who makes them, but they resemble the “Stars” (“Starz?”) aftermarket stuff from back in the day. As most folk...

Re: What about Peter Buck?
Bumping an old thread to comment on the idea of a Peter Buck signature 360... I think, cosmetics aside, there are some features of PB's guitar that might make for an appealling model: 1) Jumbo frets 2) Unfinished fretboard 3) Aftermarket brass bridge (does anyone know if PB did this for sustain or ...

Re: What about Peter Buck?
A friend of mine had a chance to get some pictures of REM's gear backstage at a recent show, and he gave me copies of these pics of Pete Buck's guitars and amps. This is what he's using nowadays. First, guitars: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2091/2425415665_cce8275714.jpg? http://farm3.static.flic...

Re: Beginning to crave another Ric....do I need a 330?
I'm looking at getting a new Mapleglo 330 right now. Wish I could find a 1980's one for a better price Do not seem to be many options. Really want this one, though: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-rickenbacker-guitar-330-fireglow/152886438330?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2...

Re: The best money I ever spent
My bridge has buzzed since my 360 was new this past December. Wonder if the Mastery bridge is the solution. Seems a shame it could not come from the factory without the buzz.

Re: Doesn't Prince's Guitarist Wendy Count?
Crazy how guitars are stolen seemingly so often--is this because of people not always supervising them at venues during load in or load out?
