Re: If I Could Change One Thing About My Rickenbacker ...

This is getting really picky, but I'd like to see reissue 6-string models with properly sized plexi TRCs...always thought that CWs, v64s, etc. looked a little wonky with wider, longer '63 and earlier sized TRCs. The 12-string models are fine since the TRC is limited in space between the headstock sl...

Re: Hey Everyone, New Member, New Guitar

Welcome Pete! That is one very fine 330 you have there. Enjoy! (and as Gary said, post some pics when you can 8) )

Re: Other Guitars Incorporating Rickenbacker Design Elements

Combining classic 60s styling elements in the body design while retaining Jackson's pointy 80s hair metal headstock is more than a little jarring, IMO.

Re: The Impact of Rickenbacker: 90 years, 90 songs

Interesting that a Rickenfaker was included in the list (Joy Division, Transmission)...unless I'm mistaken Peter Hook used a Hondo 4001 copy during that era.

Re: Other Guitars Incorporating Rickenbacker Design Elements

The Charvel Surfcaster: a bizarre mix of Rickenbacker, Fender and Danelectro features. https://s3.amazonaws.com/sg101.forum.photos/em3Pjo_iRqiLIfg8VNqAgA.jpg I always wanted one of those...and of course the 12-string Surfcaster also had the Rickenbacker-style alternating tuner headstock arrangement...

Re: Get A Load Of This You Tube Joker

At least he's up front about his ignorance...that's about the only positive thing I can say. If you're going to do online reviews, just do some basic homework first. I'd rather not watch the guy fumble through figuring out the control knobs for the very first time. This whole thing feels like one of...

Re: Carved Top 330

Very cool...I like the combination of a carved top (no carved back) but with a 330/360 shaped pick guard.

Nice YCV40WR, Todd...I gigged through one of those for a number of years. Great amp for a Rick.

Re: Ric 330, Vox AC30, and TS808

Call me crazy, but if you zoom in on that picture, I'm pretty sure you can see the walnut center strip and wings on the headstock, appearing darker so you can tell it's not a solid black guitar. (Hey, we do this with pictures of the Beatles, right? ) I actually just noticed that strip as wel...

Re: Ric 330, Vox AC30, and TS808

My opinion: this isn't a false-dichotomy choice between twee jingle-jangle 60s music and crush-yer-skull death metal, as there are obviously myriad flavors in between for which Rickenbackers are more than capable of holding their own, with or without pedals. Have Ricks been pigeon-holed? Absolutely....

Re: Playing the Rick 12 String as a 6 String

Same. I had a 450/12 that I played as a 6-string for a while, with the octave strings removed. The E-to-edge gap took very little time to get completely used to. I'm sure long term the neck would need tweaking to adjust to the reduced tension, but I never noticed any change over the 2-3 months playi...
