Re: What was your second ricky?

Second Rick is a 360-12 (2005) Fireglo I bought in NYC in January 2006. Brand new. Had to have it. First Rick is a 381 (2003) 6-string Jetglo I bought here in Toronto in January 2005. Used. Beautiful guitar. Third Rick is a 350 v63 (2007) Jetglo I bought yesterday here in Toronto. Used. Can't stop p...

Re: Teenage Fanclub

One of the best concerts I ever attended was Teenage Fanclub at Lee's Palace here Toronto circa Febuary 1994. The club was packed, the band was in a great mood, and they finished by doing Goody Goody Gumdrops. Fantastic.

Re: Poll: Will you buy the new remasters?

Did indeed purchase the stereo box set this morning at 6 minutes after 10 am...two minutes later, where I was, (Yonge & Bloor in Toronto) the entire allotment was gone. No chance at the mono box, but that can be the Holy Grail for me, as I don't have the cash right now anyhow. Also picked up a c...

Re: Border Radio

Border Radio by the Blasters! Very nice. The two brothers from Rank and File wrote that song, I think. Their version, as The Tony's, is even better. It's from, go figure, Border Radio (1987).

Re: ORAC ’09 - Ontario Rickenbacker Appreciation Confluence

It was a very good time back in, what, September of 2006??? This time, I've got to be at the Blue Jays/Royals game on that day, so I won't be there. Actually, since I haven't been able to buy that elusive third Rick since, it's probably better I don't show up this time. Maybe that's the rule...you h...

Re: Beatles catalog to be digitally remastered

Yup, I'll be lining up to buy both boxsets. I am a willing fool...and...loving it.

Then again, I'm still waiting for the Archives box set by Neil Young. And waiting.

And waiting.

Re: Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols

I gotta weight in on this. Due to my work, my 4-year-old son has had the chance to meet a number of pro athletes, and stuff like that, but nothing as cool as high fiving Steve Jones. Very nice. And people in high school never understood how one could love The Beatles and The Sex Pistols all at the s...

Re: Canadian Confluences

Wow, a guy doesn't check out this fine for the past six, seven, maybe eight (nine?) months...and everything changes....or so it seems. Isn't there some unspoken rule that each time one attends one of these Rickenbacker Confluences, they have to bring a "new" Rickbacker with them? If that's...

Re: New McCartney album!

Yup, I'm late to this party...have been very busy for the past few months, and haven't been able to check out this fine Rickenbacker Forum for some time. Wife bought me this CD for Christmas. (Thanks). Gotta agree, I enjoy this album. Most of the songs work for me, but like any project that appears ...

And that is the sound of them kicking the walls in disappointment.

Re: Spotlight On - Mitch Easter

Great stuff. I LOVE Velvet Crush's "Teenage Symphonies To God". Just listened to "Weird Summer" today. Worth tracking down if you don't already have a copy. A couple of those guys have backed up Matthew Sweet on album and in concert. The song "Crows on a Phoneline" stil...

Re: The Clash

Hey, I am rather fond of the Spirit of St. Louis album. I think about half of it is a Clash album, with Ellen Foley on vocals. I gotta transfer mine to CD.
Thanks for bringing that up!

Okay, which one of us was this????

(yes, a repeat of a thread from the bass forum...but I want to make sure I cover all possibilities in my search for this brave, brave man). Fellow Rickenbacker Fanatics (and I say that with much affection and love), please read the following excerpt from a piece in the Globe and Mail newspaper by Rh...
