Re: 660/12
As previously stated as much as the R tailpiece looks good it is a real pain to change the strings. The Trapeze tailpiece is a much better job. I know as I have a 330/6 and a 660/6 Been a while since I've been here, so I apologize for the delay following up. "Real Life", as they say, has ...

Re: The "I Got The 360/12 Tailpiece Restringin' Blues"
Just wondering if anyone has used that Winfield tailpiece? I was considering it for my 660/12 due to the two strings being right together in the same slot sometimes makes it difficult to work with them. I haven't yet, but I am considering it Anyone ever consider going the other way? Replacing a Tra...

Re: 330: any reason why it wouldn't be a good first electri
Hi, new to the forum. I'm an acoustic player, advanced beginner I'd say, play mostly rhythm but am learning about leads in lessons right now (pentatonic scales at this point). I've wanted to pick up an electric; and many of the rock bands I really like involve the sound of someone playing a Rickenb...

Re: Toaster pickups - volume of different strings
Welcome John! yeah, try adjusting the pickup height itself since you can't touch the polepieces. What's the rest of your setup? My main rig for the Rickenbackers when I'm playing out is Ernie Ball VP jr -> Boss TU-3 -> Boss CS-3 -> Boss FRV-1 to Fender Custom Shop Tweed Deluxe. Alternatively, if I'...

Re: Tell me about your first Rickenbacker...
In 1964 The Beatles and thousands of screaming teen-age girls hit the states like a tidal wave just about the same time puberty really got its hooks into me. I didn't just love The Beatles, I wanted to BE The Beatles. The first Rickenbacker I saw was, of course, John's 325 on the Ed Sullivan Show. T...

Toaster pickups - volume of different strings
I've just received my 4th Rickenbacker 12 string. If I read the S/N correctly it's a 2012 model 370/12. The high-gain pickups have been replaced with "Toaster Top" pickups. I'm assuming they're scatter-wounds. (I just like the look of the scatter-wound toaster pickups better than I like th...
