Re: Rickenbacker 90th Anniversary Models

I really like the fact that Rickenbacker decided to celebrate the 90th with really new models, not just adaptions to existing instruments (colour, binding) as with the 75th. Especially the bass sports a body shape (bound 360) not available before on a bass, so that's maybe what people were waiting f...

Re: Rickenbacker TR 25 Guitar Amp.

I have one, too. Bought it back in the late nineties in Switzerland. Whenever I record a Rickenbacker 12-string, I use this amp. It seems that the solid state technology suits the 12-string sound a lot, just as the Roland JC-120 does...

Re: C63/12. V64/12

All a matter of taste I guess. Although I am somewhat of a traditionalist when it comes to Rickenbackers, whenever I see these guitars side by side I always like the V64s better just by the looks. Especially the finishes of the early examples are just great.

Re: Wavy Grovers - Should I Be Afraid?

I used to own an early 73 with all the desirable appointments, but 2 of the 4 Grovers had the issue. It's not that you can get hurt from the "explosion", but for me it would be too risky to depend on it at a gig. I guess it all depends on the condition of the tuners, I bet there are perfec...

Re: Music Rooms & Playing Areas - Show Yours!

Chris,

seems like we have a similar taste regarding full body Rickenbackers :-) Now that Graham, Ron and I each own a jetglo 360F, yours must be the 4th example I came across so far...

Re: 1966 F HOLE 4005 Bass?

they usually pop up in Italy and go by the Rose Morris designation 3261. I think one example recently sold by a forum member to a progrock star in Canada. I think I've seen around four in the past 10 years or so being advertised for sale. Quite rare, the RRF register lists 5 of them.

Re: Help identifying an old 400 combo

Hi, the guitar clearly looks like a 60s example. Looking at 450s from 1959 and 1960 in the register it appears that the serial numbers don't indicate the year of manufacture. My 57 Combo 450 still has a serial 4C, then 4 digits (the first one being a 7 for 1957), then A (for 2 PUs). But 1959 and 196...

Crazy yellowing of TRC

Is the any way of reverting the yellowing effect of a TRC (other than replacing it)? As you can see in the picture, I have one that yellowed quite a lot. Plus, why does it happen at all? This particulart example was never exposed to any unusual light conditions...
