Lovely example. Still not many stories like that one. Hope you got the neck sorted out out Tony!
Now, where's that blonde stack knob jazz!

Re: My dads 4003.
Possibly the best example of an early 70's AZG I can remember. I'll concur with chef and say very late '71, especially as the other two examples are December basses.
Fabulous!

Without question, one of the best "finds" we have ever seen on the RRF. Even with the information available on this site, these guitar's have probably been the least discussed out of all production instruments! Congratulations to the new owner :D ...and the Rickenbacker community as a whole!

Re: Newly stolen items *ALERT*
The guy still has the auction up. This needs to be pulled ASAP. Good news on the recovery of a few instruments Gary. This goes to show what a great thing a registry is, especially when someone like Brian keeps a very close eye on what's going on. Kudos to him and everyone else who is keeping...

Re: 1964 RM1999 Completed Restoration!
I know what you mean. Now try a Höfner 500/1. It'l feel like a toy and make the Rick feel like an anvil! The typical German-made Höfner weighs less than five pounds. :D Now we're into the acoustic section Paul. This is a Hofner free zone! 8) Then try an older 4005... I don't have a slip for a...

Re: 1964 Rickenbacker
Condolences on your loss of your brother Chris... Are you in the UK? Is that Ludham in Norfolk? This board has the most experienced eyes and knowledge you will find certainly from an online perspective. As already pointed out, your local shop will probably have never seen one, unless there's some ol...

Re: 1964 RM1999 Completed Restoration!
How much has the weight changed Andy? Most of these early basses were pretty light... It's very light Sean. I can't remember if it felt heavier before...it's been too long since I played it on a regular basis. What I do realize after playing my 60's Jazz and P bass mainly for the last couple of yea...
