Re: So the 381v69 is discontinued
the 1993/12 plus looks like a fine guitar, but there is no 6 string version is there? And its not the same as a 381 with its beautiful carved top. But I guess the market dictates demand and if nobody is ordering them... I have seen a few older models around, the one I had was from 2017 so I'm lookin...

So the 381v69 is discontinued
So I did not see a thread on this already, I am sure many of you know but the 381v69 and 12 string variant are no longer being made with no plans to ever make them again. This is apparently due to low sales. As n owner of one up until recently this surprised me as my 6 string from 2017 was one of th...

Rickenbacker El Toro
I'd never heard of this one before, but saw this on Instagram.
They're asking north of 20k for it.

Old thread, but I really wish Ric had a custom shop of some kind. I understand why they dont, but it would be a dream if they did.
I'd order a walnut 381v69 - can you imagine?

Re: Confused about Australian distributor
Andrew, you're more patient that I am.
I wanted to order a 381v69 for my upcoming 40th but preferred to get it closer to that milestone than my 50th, so ordered one in the USA and sent to a family member there.

Re: Confused about Australian distributor
Well after doing some digging myself, I did find that CMI Music are indeed the current distributor. They have limited stock that has been sent to dealers, including: Scarlett Music Derringers Music Guitar Factory Parramatta Turramurra Music Centre KC's Rock Shop ' Hope this helps someone if they end...

Confused about Australian distributor
Hi guys, I have been digging through the forum but can’t find an answer on this on. The Ric website lists CMI music as their Aussie distributors but the CMI website doesn’t show Ric as one of the brands they represent. I found a thread from 2013 saying a new Australian distributor had been appointed...

Anyone mix a humbucker and a toaster together?
Wondering whether anyone has ever tried to have a toaster and a HB-1 on the same guitar?
Is that asking for trouble?
I kinda like the idea of having a humbucker on the neck and toaster on the bridge, would they play nicely together? I appreciate a change in pots/caps would be needed.

Re: CITES - Shipping a Rickenbacker to Australia
If it's a new instrument, they do not have any woods restricted by CITES. They use Caribbean "rosewood" which is not a true rosewood. It's also known as Chechen. oh I did not know that, thats great to know. Do you know how long this has been the case? The guitar is 'new' but not sure how ...

CITES - Shipping a Rickenbacker to Australia
Hi guys,
I was looking at buying a new Rickenbacker from a dealer in the US (I'm in Australia) but then I realised with the fingerboard being made of rosewood, I might run into problems with CITES.
Will Ric dealers be able to provide CITES certification for shipping guitars overseas?

Re: Switching to Humbuckers, which pots?
Hey Jason, what did you do in terms of pots and caps when you put the hums in?
If 500k pots is the way to go on all of them, wondering if they need to be audio or linear taper or a mix?
