Re: If Rickenbacker Didn't Exist
1- yes they would. 2- I'd probably own something else. 3- I don't like 12 stringers. As for the Beatles/Rickenbacker relationship, I never saw it as a big deal, really. IMHO John, George and Paul played Rickenbacker instruments just as they'd have played Fenders or Gibsons instead, like the Rolling ...

loosening strap button
The top horn strap button in my 620 is becoming loose. I tried tightening it with my hand, it just began to go all 360 clockwise.
Should I try to fix this myself or just take it to a luthier?

Michael Parks Jr. - All Them Witches
Just came across this gentleman who plays a VERY interesting Rick bass that has endured more abuse than I've ever seen, and also a 12 string guitar.
He tells the whole story of both instruments here:

Re: TRC Logo Touch Up
It was a very nice work. The results look great.
However, I wouldn't do anything to that TRC, I'd leave it as it is. Mojo, baby.

Re: Rickenbacker To Stop Lacquering Fretboads Starting Now
Well, it seems that I'll be the one who starts disagreeing...
Sign of the times and we got to accept that as a fact. But I can't help but punctuate that newer RICs might start being different animals... You know, no more bubinga fretboards, no more lacquered fretboards...

Re: nut set up
Did the job with a friend and it’s good as new.
Are these modern nuts still made of Bakelite?

nut set up
My Rickenbacker has the black plastic nut and the high E string is buzzing a bit when open. My best guess is that the nut slot has gone too deep but I am no tech. If it's a matter of filling it up and dressing it until it fits the right string height, what should I use? I know luthiers will use bone...

(Modern) radio days...
I wanted to give myself a recovery treat. Nothing fancy, but something music related that would be practical and not necessarily hi fi. Being a vinyl and classic radio enthusiast, I've been looking forward to buying a Philetta 254, just to own one, and also to put together a music room with a nice M...

Re: Happy Friday Meeting Place
No time for my Rick this Friday.
I'm putting together a secondary effects chain entirely dedicated to Hendrix stuff. Tuner, wah, octafuzz and univibe. Some of the extra equipment I ordered will arive this afternoon and I can't wait to put this together and plug in a strat.
