Re: 360/12 re-fret options and tech recommendations
I’m still rocking my 360/12 and will probably never re fret it. The frets have serious divots in them but I’m gonna play the thing into the ground because there doesn’t seem to be anyone who will do it properly.

Re: What's The Attraction To Flatwounds On The 12 Strings?
I sort of split the difference and use GHS pure nickel rollerwound strings for the wounds on my 360/12. They’re half way between round and flat. I also assemble the sets myself from single strings for what seems to work best on my instrument, which has very very short frets. My set is as follows 9/9...

Flying with your Rickenbacker
Hi All, I'm going to be flying from California the London later this year for a tour and want to bring my Rick 12 with me. Neither Virgin Atlantic or British Airways will allow you to carry a hard shell case on an airplane-- you might be able to charm/argue your way onto the flight, but it's not lik...

Janglebox JBX Pedal
Hello, I'm a fan of the janglebox line. I use the Janglebox nano, and am really happy with it. Recently I found out about the JBX, the top of the line offering from janglebox. https://www.janglebox.com/jbx https://lirp.cdn-website.com/a3999469/dms3rep/multi/opt/JBX2_purple_smaller-d7dd46d3-1920w.jpg...

Re: Shielding a Rickenbacker 330/360 Guitar
Hey all, wanted to give this a bump. I use a janglebox compressor, which is the reason for the extra noise. without that it's pretty silent. Looking for some advice on how to shield a rickenbacker.

Shielding a Rickenbacker 330/360 Guitar
Hello, I've got a few Ricks and I use the janglebox pedal and I get a TON of noise, the kind that stops when you touch the metal on the instrument cable, or the tuners, or to some extend the strings. On my Fenders, I shield them and it's silent, but those are solid body guitars with a pickup cavity....

Strings/Setup on a 330/6 - Mitch Easter content!
Hey all, I have a 330/6 and am generally pretty happy with the sound. It's currently strung up with roundwound 11's. Action is about as low as I can go with clear articulation/sustain, no buzzing. My 330 has hi-gains. My playing style involves a lot of big open chords/capoing/articulate melodic lead...

Re: Toaster Pickup differences
On the '81, those are probably "scatterwound" reissue toasters, which they started making in '99. How long have you had it? Does the neck pickup have short poles, or long like the bridge pickup? On the V64, pickups won't have anything to do with sustain, that's all the guitar's wood and c...

Toaster Pickup differences
Hello all, I’ve got three rickenbacker guitars and they all sound quite different. I decided to test the pickup resistance using a multimeter. My method was to measure from a cable at the output jack, with pickups in the guitar and the knobs up all the way (careful to ensure the blend knob was corre...

Re: Question about finishes
Here I’ll give you a couple examples.
This is an 88 330 for sale on reverb. Look at that checking! Here’s another one, an 89. Look at that gloss.
How have these guitars aged so differently??

Re: Question about finishes
A lot of them were reverb ads that are long gone. But I think most folks on this board will know what I'm talking about. A brand new rickenbacker is super glossy and shiny, whereas proper "vintage" ones and even just older ones are more matte, and that's what I want. I'm curious about thes...

Question about finishes
I'm in the market for a Fireglo 330 from around the time when they had vintage style cases - 1980 - 1991 or so. I see some on reverb from time to time, but one thing I notice is sometimes they look almost aged, like the finish is more matte or something, almost like an actual vinage rick, whereas ot...

Rickenbacker 330 Models/Changes
Always been looking around for a decent 330 6-string in the $2k range. They pop up on reverb from time to time. Sometimes you can catch an early 80s Rick on reverb for just as cheap as a later 80s, 90s, etc. and snag a model that's technically "vintage" but way cheaper. So I'm trying to fi...
