But that actually will move the pickups closer to the neck, for an overall warmer sound I would think. Perhaps that idea is what some people might be ...

If you had a stock 4001 or 4003, and using the toggle switch selected only the bridge pickup, would that have the same sound that the 4000 bass has ? If not, why ?

Upon closer inspection of the picture, I realize that my pole pieces are flat, and much bigger. I can also say that this pickup has a killer sound. Even better than my stock 1980 4001S

Pete....I must say that you guys sound great !! We have Yes tribute bands around my neck of the woods, but none sound anywhere as good as you guys do !
