I had the opportunity to see Marshall Crenshaw last year at Pontiac's Arts, Beats, & Eats. ( Check out: artsbeatseats.com ) He put on a superb show. Being able to see him along with Roger should be a real treat.

All literature that I've read, from the eighties, only offered the V63 in Mapleglo or Fireglo. As far as the black case that would be correct. I don't think the silver case was reissued until the early 90's. My 91 V63 has a black wooden case.

I have been pleased with GHS compression wound on a 4001V63. They are between ground wound and round wound in brightness. Nice punch and a smooth feel.
