Re: 4001 Tailpiece Replacement Options

... In the end it's your choice, both the V2 and Hipshot are great and work well. Thank you for the quick reply and the link! I'm leaning towards the Rickenbacker option just to keep my bass a pure as possible. Can you tell me if the adjustability features on them are the same? Hi, The Hipshot has ...

is it possible chequered binding is more comfortable to play than plain ....... discuss. It's just that the beauty eases the pain! Well, it does always look nicer, as for discomfort, I've not experienced any. Perhaps the discomfort level is more to do with the position of the 4003 and how...

Re: 4001 Tailpiece Replacement Options

Hi, I've used and own both, and my preference now would be the new V2 from Rickenbacker. The Hipshot is a great bridge, and depending on whether you choose the Brass or Aluminium version there is a fair weight difference, as you point out the Hipshot will drop in with no additional drilling or screw...

Re: Buy 4003 or 4003s and say why

I seem to be the only person I’ve heard of who finds the bound basses more comfortable than the unbound ones! I’ll have either though, if anyone is giving them away. 😉 I"m similar, both are equally comfortable to play, and, happy to accept any and all donations. Currently (if you count V-63 an...

Congratulations, looks fantastic.

Larry does indeed do fantastic work, he recently completed a substantial rework of my 1973 Fretless, converting it to Fretted.

The more I look at the Fender Blonde finishes the more I am convinced that that was what Chris and Sam were aiming for. Regarding what type of paint Sam used..its anyones guess but one would have to look at what suitable mixtures of spray paints would have been available in the London of 1970. Car/...
