I'm still trying to find out why Bass Player magazine never features any Ric players.

The closest they've come is Geddy Lee in last month's issue, and he was pimping his Fender.

Aren't the Rickenbacker 12's strung differently than the standard 12 string accoustics?

I thought I had read the root and octive strings are opposite than other accoustics. ie octives on the bottom and roots on top.

Is this true?

Now the next question is: what do you guys do with your EQ once you put the flats on?

I fitted my 4003 with Rotosound flats and I love 'em, but I can't quite tweak my EQ to get his sound.

New Guitar shop...no Rick's

A new Guitar Center just opened in my town (Lincoln, NE), so I decided to check out the new store. I went up to the store manager and said: "Hey, no Rickenbackers?" He told me not only do they not stock them, they don't even carry the line. So I wouldn't even be able to order one (not that...

Gig bad suggestions?

I can almost get my entire rig in my car with the exception of my bass. I think I can solve the problem by using a gig bag for practices. (For gig's my guitar player will pick me up in his SUV and the Rick will stay in the case.) My question is, anyone have any suggestions for a gig bag you'd trust ...

I can guarantee you he's using Rotosound flats with that Bass. The tone is WAY to mellow for him to be playing rounds and using a pick.

GREAT BAND!!! I hope they get back together.

First time Flatwound user

I just got a set of Rotosound Flats in the mail from Musicians friend. I want to make sure there wasn't some sort of shipping snafu at the warehouse. I've never used flats before, so bear with me. Isn't every string supposed to resemble the side of a nickle; as in no ridges? Granted the ridges on th...

Vintage knob question

I just got some vintage knobs from Pickguardian for my 4003. Did anyone else run into a problem where they didn't turn smoothly after you installed them? They look great, but it's almost like they're to deep. There's a distinct difference between the vintage knobs and factory knobs as far as turning...

Did I miss something?

From Musicians Friend: The Rickenbacker 4003 Bass is famous for its ringing sustain, treble punch, and solid underlying bottom end. It's also famous for its distinctive, elegantly curved body shape, accentuated by a subtle strip of binding, deluxe triangular fretboard inlays, stereo output, neck-thr...

Anthony, you're not alone.

I bought a FG 4003 for my FG 360 because the 360 looked "lonely" and needed a playmate.

In my humble opinion, the Rickenbacker fireglo paint job is the best color the company has to offer.

Wesley-Welcome!

If you take a look at my post count, you'll see I'm fairly new as well.

You won't BELIEVE how much information you're about to gain on not only your Rickenbacker Bass, but the Bass guitar in general.

This place is an absolute godsend!!

Douglas, that picture is what made me decide to go with the chrome surround guard. I was going to match whatever pick guard color I got with the surround guard, but that chrome looks WAY to good on your Bass. The next decision is if I want to order the "vintage" tuning knobs as well. Decis...

Don't they still make fretless overlays? I swear "back in the day" I guy I knew had a 4001 that he used an overlay. He could take it off when he played in his rock band, and put it on when he played Jazz. I don't know if I'd actually go for the full overhaul of having the frets removed whe...

Anyone have any suggestions on what would go best with the fireglo or does anyone have a pic of a fireglo that they've changed the pick guard on? I'm going to get the chrome surround cover, but I can't decide what would be best for the pickguard. I'm sure people like them, but I think the white pick...
