Re: Treble Bezel by Tubeampology

This is a shout-out to Frank Pistorio for amazing customer service and standing by his warranty. I bought a treble bezel in 2011. It had to be a custom fit because my '73 4001 has the large "transitional" pickup. I've been very happy with the product all these years, but over time the beze...

Re: My Rickenbacker Anniversary

Thanks guys! I still haul that Sunn rig out a few times a year. (Overkill for a bar gig!) The bass is in very good shape indeed. Those 2 purchases were among my best decisions in the 70's!

Re: My Rickenbacker Anniversary

Happy Birthday to mine! I purchased my 4001 bass on June 25, 1973 at Terminal Music, 48th St. in Manhattan. 47 years of faithful service and only one refret!

Thumbs down on the Hipshot. The break angle is too shallow.

That cool little Carvin bass is the same as one played by Gabriel Roth (a/k/a Bosco Mann), bassist for the Dap-Kings.

Nice score. If it were mine, I'd restore it to a 4000. Plug those nasty holes.

This is true. IIRC, you get close to "flat" on GK heads by cutting back the bass and treble (to around 10 am) and boost the two mid-bands to 1 or 2 pm.

I too am a big fan of GK amps. Wonderful 4-band eq. Very musical.

So THAT's the trick! Thank you!!

Or just get a Hipshot replacement bridge and be done with the whole hot mess. They aren't perfect either, some reports of the saddles rattling, but a whole lot easier and quicker to intonate. I still don't get why Hall let that aftermarket cash cow slip through his fingers, instead of fighting (and...

I'm one year ahead of you, and equally thankful. I'd been using one or two 50 lb. cabinets for years. After a long gig, with creaky knees and stiff back, the Barefaced makes all the difference at 2 a.m.
