I'll try to post mre pics ,they arev to big now and I have to resize to fit on this site. The best ones are on my android and I still dont know how to move them to my PC and organize, but I'll try. to me the only thing that could be better would be a checkerboard binding

My '76 4001

Hey guys, Thought I'd share my '76 4001 and get your thoughts and opinions, especially on the most recent set up I just finished after getting the bridge p/u rewound. First a bit of history. Back in the mid/late '80's when my son was in 3rd grade or so, I dropped him off at a friend of his to hang o...

Re: 4001 V63 Horseshoe

I put a rick re-issue horse shoe p/u in my '76 4001. It lasted for about a year and for some reason needed a re-wind. the guy that does my p/u's was told I would like a bit of an over wind. Understatement.....When I got it back it measured out to be 15.60k. Low and behold, the damn thing sounds grea...

Re: 2015 4003S intonation challenge/issue?

My bridge and saddles were a new Rickenbacker replacement back in '88. intonation screws are countersunk phillips. Now that the bass is apart, I,m going to try and get some pan head phillips w/slightly larger heads, otherwise I'll have to resort back to remove ,adjust, install, repeat method

Re: 1984 V63 Magnetic Horseshoe Pickup Question

That looks identical to my re-issue V63 I bought in the late '80's, split shoe and all. Magnetized V. Un magnetized shoes. I,ve always wondered about that myself. what would be the benefit anyway?. Oh and also that re issue horseshoe had a resistance of 15.4k w/ 43awg wire.

Re: V63 reissue horse shoe winding wire size & pot values.

Thanks for the replies, just might take you up on the offer aceonbass. I,m just looking for a low end punchy sound with clarity .And alot of the time ,it cost's me a fortune taking the trial and error route. My problem here is not totally understanding the correlation between all the components. ie;...
