Hey John. Here it is. Supposedly this guitar was Jeff Tweedy's and bought as part of the Norm's special run. I changed out (but kept) the original gold pickguards and TRC to white awhile back. Not sure you can tell, but the grain on the top and back are amazing.

Re: 1980s Rickenbacker cases
I wanted to revive this thread because I was fortunate enough to get new silver vintage-style cases for my '95 360S-12 and my '80 620-12. These are being special-ordered by Winfield Vintage, and have deep blue plush, form-fitted to the bodies (tightly). They also have black leather ends and handles....

If this is the guitar we're discussing, I'd say yes.

Re: Van Ghents?
If anyone here is interested, I have a NOS set of these for sale in the For Sale section. I bought them years ago from the RIC factory and never used them. They're still wrapped in their original tissue paper. PM me if you're interested.

I might have the tuner you need. Will you be posting some pics of the guitar and tuners? As it turns out, these have been made in both nickel and chrome.

Re: An interesting 330 - what's up with the sticker on the head?
About 8 years ago, I had an early '65 365 NS in fireglo with the same sticker. It said "Model 365' and a four digit number which did not match the jackplate. It had the darker fireglow common in that era, but was relatively unremarkable in all respects save for the Van Ghent tuners used sporadi...

Re: Can you help me identify my Rick?
According to Richard Smith's book there were 4 x 360fg OS and 15 x 365fg OS made in '65. You appear to have the rarer of the two. I don't think the mounting hole for the accent vibrola would be in the correct position for the R tailpiece endhook, so if it had been converted you'd probably have two ...

Also, assuming the bridge is original, I'd check to see if it's a roller bridge. If so, we can probably assume it left the factory as a 365, if not, it is probably (but not definitely) a 360.

Beautiful guitar, no question. Not to be nit-picky, but crushed pearl would not have been used in '61, or with a 4-knob setup. Still a beaut, tho.

Re: Whats your thoughts on this 365? Owners question
Hey, i was just about to put a message on about renovating my 365 when I find their is already a message about it lol. Hey, I'm the owner of the Rickenbacker 365, I was thinking about putting a new bridge/vibro on it as the one at the moment looks a little old...well it is a bloody old guitar. Also...

Re: Whats your thoughts on this 365?
Looks pretty original to me. Must be one of the last 3-piece tops made in '66. Is there a drill hole on the bass side of the top near the bottom corner of the neck pickup??
