Hi I have a great bass tech who is very busy. I was wondering if anyone knew of a great setup guy in CT who can check out and setup my new (to me) 4001cs. I'm afraid it may have neck issues and I'd like an expert to look at it ASAP.
Thanks for any help
Brett

Buying from Tokyo
I'm wondering if anyone here has ordered from ishibashi music. It seems they are a big dealer in Tokyo. Has there been any problems with their basses? They mentioned that there may be an import duty, is there one for the US? and how would that work? lastly how long does it take to get an instrument ...

Ok so which newer basses have the cap?
I'm mostly interested in the v and c series. c64 has the cap right? v63 no cap? what about the chris squire cap or no?
didn't ALL the real deals have the cap in the 60's?
Do a lot of folks put the cap in to get closer to the classic sound?
Thanks for your info

Re: Anyone in the Hartford area?
Okay i've checked out the bass. it's a late 73 no cb no full inlays the bridge has advanced lift, and there are two cracks in the neck from truss abuse.
I hope this helps.

Re: adding a push/pull knob and cap
Hi Evan It's a 4003. And your right it's a bargain. It's funny, before I went to check it out the very nice gentleman I bought it from was unable to tell me anything about it except that it was immaculate and he bought it used in 1994. he said it was a 4001. I assumed that he may have been mistaken ...

adding a push/pull knob and cap
Alright I love my new "87 4003 but I need the cap and I like the tone without it as well so where do I get the cap (and the push pull) and a schematic for installation?
do I need to take any wood out of the cavity for the Mod?
thanks
