If it was gone, it's back. Even has 24/7 support, you can chat with Christopher, Master Guitar Luthier at the moment.

Re: Bassic Colors No. 8 – Is it Autumnglo or Walnut?

Just to show the differences that can appear between two pictures of the same bass. I bought the Autumnglo that "Factory has comfirmed this rare autumnglo satin finish made for the Canadian market in the 70's". The darker picture is the onw Mike Parks used to advertise the bass on his site...

Re: How about this faker...

Just a hunch, but I suspect that if you order one of these you will never actually get it. The site looks like a scam for the unsuspecting. The item's description looks like keyword spamming, and the site looks like a knock-off of ebay.

Yes, I love that early Eighties dark Fire-Glo myself and waited until I found an early Eighties Fire-Glo v63. No regrets, I love the v63.

These were both sold to fund the purchase of a v63.

Re: Interesting 4003 on ebay

I think he's not sure about a number of things, hence the last part of his statement: "Orange sunburst I think they call it NiteGlow, but that my be a cranial flatulation on my part ." Yea, right before that he calls it a "2003". I agree, it looks like early Eighties 4003 ...

Re: Olivia's does it again! 4005 Price Record?

Keep in mind that this was one of the bound 4005s (like Jeff's) and should garner a higher price based on its vintage and rarity. I think standard 4005s should be available in the $5-8K range depending on age and condition. Also keep in mind a nicer 67 bound 4005 sold a few weeks ago for only $6500...

Re: What do you think of the price of Rics these days?

—I would be happy to see prices drop a tad. Prices have dropped (at least on ebay) from what they were six months ago, unless you're looking at rare examples. Nice used 4001 and 4003's are selling for hundreds less than they might have brought a few months ago. And if you look at the completed list...

I sold my '81 4003S to buy an '87 4001V63, and it is here for keeps. There is no bass I'd rather have.

It must be you. Note in the description "Looks like it used to be blue" and look where the neck meets the body. It's probably a less than perfect refin.

Re: What to do with Ric 4001 in storage?? RE: Strings?

I should mention that the truss rods are tightened at TIGHT as they go and my action is still reasonably high You might want to search for the adjustment procedure for 4001 basses. Tightening the truss rods has no effect on the action. You have to loosen the rods, adjust the neck, then tighten the ...

It looks like it has a genuine SD neck pickup, but there is nothing desirable about this bass to me.

Re: Price for 1968 Ric 4001 with some issues...?

Hello everyone! 1. The truss rods are as tight as they go, and the action is definitely playable, but a little high for some players. Ideas? Comments? The truss rods are not an issue. They don't work like most other basses. Tightening these truss rods does not change neck relief. The neck must be a...
