Re: Double Truss Rod ?

Can't always believe what you read, but in two different Rick references I read it was introduced in '57 in the Combo 650 and 850.

Capo? Shubb. Kysers are real effective, but so would be a jumper cable clamp.

Re: Why did the Vintage Forum disappear?

I have to agree with Collin, one hundred percent. Politically correct it can only be 99.9. RIC's vintage years are as much about age as they are of original design. Every American guitar manufacturer has their Golden Era, and for RIC the mid to late 50's to the very early 70's, IMHO, was theirs. Hav...

Re: Help identifying this fretboard wood

Beautiful. Look at that ramp!! CNC programmers take note: that's how they should look. 8) That's YOUR opinion, anyway. Maybe I should have just said "Great Ramp In My Opinion." :) I'm sure it is a great Rick, and has a great ramp. This is why I left this forum, and obviously will again (i...

Case you're wondering, Shaftsbury were 60's Japanese knockoffs made for Rose Morris. Think the Stones had a couple, until Brian bought the real del.

If you want some long and tedious reading you can skip through their SEC S-1 Form.

Re: Fender files for IPO Today

Whatever the outcome is with FMIC going public the affects won't be limited to Fender. Gretsch and Guild will get the same treatment. Maybe better, maybe worse.

Re: Fender files for IPO Today

I had no idea 43% of Fender was owned under the not-so-guiding hands of a private equity firm, so going fully public can't be seen as a product benefit. Having worked for both a PEF and Goldman-Sachs, many parts suffer, but not profits.

Haven't been here for a while, but had to throw this out there.

Congratulations to all on what must be considered, hands down, the most meandering thread in the history of the Internet. Re: Article on Lennon's RIC 325

To say in his article Lennon's use of the 325 is the greatest hoax in rock n roll history makes it sound like Lennon never even used it, or the 325 didn't even exist (assuming the author knows what hoax means). Obviously a prejudicial writer with highly questionable writing skills. I'd leave my name...
