Re: Playability RC 325

Make sure you have a minimum of 12 guage strings on it. ANything lower can give intonation and vibration noise problems

Re: Repairing a Ding on 1964 Model 320

It's really odd to see a '64 320.

The previous earliest known 320 is from '66, and the figures for '64 don't include any 320's.

Perhaps it's a slightly later year, or has had the accent replaced with an R sometime in it's history?

The '90 320 is still here and doing well. I ended up putting the original toggle back in place so it would be completely original :)

Re: Vintage Silver Case

An interesting question. I don't think the B series version came with a silver case, but perhaps the reissue silver case was introduced with the V series in the late 1980's?

Perhaps some people who own early 325v63 might comment on what case it came with....

Re: (Alleged) Bits of John Lennon's V81 Hit the Auction Bloc

It is an original guard, and is the one that was on the instrument during the beatlemania years. The original '58 factory guard was probably replaced when the work was done to the guitar and wiring loom by Burns.

Re: I Saw the Holy Grail Today.

Thanks for sharing Dan. It's always nice to see fresh photos of John's guitars. There are some nice clear shots taken while setting this display up

There are enough references on the thread, not to mention people who received your discreet little emails ala "....A little birdie told me to explore the "inner markings"/wiring of Hoover's 325, and compare to JWilli's V86...Doing so, found find it very similar and feel it is safe to ...

Re: May I Introduce To You...V82!

It's a funny thing you know. It seems like only a few weeks ago in another forum that the buyer was adamant that this guitar was not V82, but was actually V84. It was said that he had seen internal marking proving that it was V84, and so V82 was still out there somewhere. Now that Paul has purchased...

Re: Where is John's 1996?

I guess the problem with establishing what the facts of the matter is that we're dealing with people who aren't so keen or even knowledgable on the facts, including Ringo himself. These guys are not like us in terms of knowing the finer points of Rickenbacker guitars, how to tell a re-issue from a r...

Seems like we're narrowing down the changeover from Black to Silver case. My '91 360/12v63 is from April

Re: Where is John's 1996?

I was emailed by a someone researching this question recently. This person met Ringo last year in Monaco at a dinner, and was able to speak to him specifically about it. Ringo said he doesn't own any small Rickenbacker of John's and never has. It wasn't overly suprising to hear this. All the talk of...
