Re: New Series - Current Artists Week #1

I know exactly what you're talking about and I agree with you completely. I have a friend who collects music and DVD concerts and he is a great expert in that area, but he simply will not listen to any new material (after the mid sixties!!) claiming that the best music has already been written (??!!...

Re: New Series - Current Artists Week #1

Hey, you old people, there's a lot more out there than just The Beatles and The Byrds... (ducks for cover)   Yeah, I'm in my 50's so I'm officially an old person, and yeah, there are a lot of new "artists" that, in my opinion aren't worth listening to. But there is some re...

Re: 320 325s who really plays them?

Over the years, in fact, over the decades, Rickenbacker has managed very successfully to retain a pedigree and aura that few other guitar makers have, perhaps only Fender and Gibson. In look and sound they are instantly recognizable and very unique. But this video shows that they are no one-trick po...

Re: "Artistic" photo of my Rick 340

Maybe I will try making a landscape photo for the calendar competition. Perhaps next year's calendar will be guitars only!!

Bojan

P.S. This photo could be made even more "festive" with PhotoShop. Something like this.

Re: New Series - Current Artists Week #1

Both videos sound fantastic!! I love the sound of the bass in the second one!! Looks to me like a Gibson or Epiphone semi-acoustic . . . What a sound!!!

Re: "Artistic" photo of my Rick 340

Thank you everyone for your kind responses. The "shine" is a result of polishing with Scratch-X and Zymol, as per Paul's instructions, for which I am eternally grateful!! A friend who saw my 340 said it had a finish like a Steinway piano! Cant' get better than that! As for entering the pic...

"Artistic" photo of my Rick 340

I took this picture of my 340/6JG over the holidays. The little color spots all over it are a reflection from our Christmas tree. I'm not sure whether it qualifies as "artistic," but I thought it was interesting. I hope you like it.

Re: Why are Pyramid strings suddenly the worst?

OK, I said at some point in this thread that I would give my opinion of Thomastik-Infelt flatwounds when I tried them. I just put on a 10-44 set of jazz flatwounds on my 340/6 and I really have to say that they are tremendous!! Wonderful sound, nice and percussive but twangier than the Pyramids, gre...

Re: New forum

We had a similar case with a Shadows music forum, which was created after some of the members of the main Shadows Music forum were disappointed, mainly because of a lot of quarreling that had gone on. Their forum was up for about eight or nine months and very little happened there and it had only a ...
