Actually the 4001 is Fireglo. The seller never responded and the ad has been pulled. I'm not surprised since it was listed for $800.

I may have the opportunity to purchase a '77 4001 Bass. I'm not a bass player but I would like to add one to my collection. Checked it out and it was absolutely mint. Not a mark on it. Unfortunately a friend was supposed to bring a Fender amp and put the Ric through it paces, but a wreck had the road closed down. I don't know anything about amp settings or guitar settings to get the best out of an electric. I'll have to ...

I'm going to be checking out a 650D later today. In one of the photos the owner sent me, it looks like there is a knot in the wood next to the bridge.
