Re: PLEASE - Help Me!
Derrick.....see if you can contact Mark Arnquist in Southern California. He is the recognized repair and setup expert for RIC guitars....not associated with the company. Someone will have his contact info. He might have something laying around...at worst he would be the guy to recommend alternative ...

Re: German carved Capri
That "I Got A Feeling" clip is cool, but it's pretty apparent they were lip-synching. Burton's guitar sounds like a Tele, although I suppose it could have been the Rickenbacker; some of them can sound quite Tele-like, but the giveaway for me was that the bass on the track is definitely el...

Re: How long have you consecutively owned a Ric?
Wow! Talk about digging through the crates! Kudos to Ron Seebol for unearthing this thread. Nice little bragging rights opp for the long-time owners. Looks like David Harmon (360dave) has us all beat by a longshot having bought his 360 in 1960! (See David's original post) That is, provided he still...

Normally I don't care much for 360F's....but THIS one has definitely caught my eye.
Man....I sure would like to pound out some 'Mystery Train' on that thing!
Great looking ax....

Re: Fender Amps
I have a Fender brown Bandmaster with 3 10" Jensens. It sounds crystal clear and does not have any mods....I bought it new in 60'. I replaced all the tone caps and I like JJ tubes. I replaced the output tube sockets to ceramic but other than re-coning the speakers at Orange County Speaker....it...

Re: NGD - 1961 New Capri/OS 365 - info needed for restoratio
Hello John...... You have a nice project there and it should be pretty nice when finished. I have a 60' 360 Mapleglow I bought new back then and in about 63' I traded a guy for a Kauffman and roller bridge. Big mistake. Later I removed the Kaufmann and bought a new proper tailpiece from RIC. It stil...

Re: how do I get this stuck knob off my pickguard / pot??
a real penetrating oil like Kroil, PB Blaster, or even Liquid Wrench is better, If you do get it off, carefully file any burrs or whatnot off the shaft to make it nice and smooth before replacing the knob... PB Blaster works great BUT it stinks SO BAD that you'll have to hang up the 4001 in the she...

Re: German carved Capri
Here's another vid that shows Burton with that 381 or whatever it was. Looks like a trapeze tailpiece. Keep in mind that Burton was probably getting promo money from RIC for appearing with this instrument on a national very popular TV show at the time. He sure reeled me in! In an interview by a maga...

Re: German carved Capri
Nice vid....I haven't seen it in a very long time. In fact....the RIC that Burton is playing in the vid is what led me to order a 360 MG in late 59'. It came as a single trussrod 60' model that had been repainted from FG to MG at the factory. In fact, it is the only guitar of any mfg that I know of ...

Re: another color question
Hey Kevin.....I think you're right about the MG being the most difficult.....My 360 MG has a run in the paint. Not too cool but it's about 50 years too late for any warrantee work....if I could get it that is.
Paul....I DO believe that would be considered UNcommon....HEH
