Distortion from Bridge pickup on 4003

Just posting for a friend here. He has a fairly recent 4003 with vintage tone circuit. The bridge pickup just started distorting heavily for no apparent reason. The neck pickup is fine. Any ideas of what to check first ? I'm thinking the pickup itself might be at fault. Anyone know what the resistan...

2020 series

Could anyone tell me if the 2020 series is a full scale or 3/4 scale bass, and if it's pickups are the same as the 3000 series ?

Thanks !

8 String Bass Saddles

A while back, right when I couldn't afford them, someone posted that there was, or they had, a mod for the 4008 saddles that allowed individual string height adjustment.

Anyone remember who that was ? I'm about to get with Paul W to refinish the 4008 so it would be nice to do this at the same time.

Re: 2013: Another Bay Area (BARC)...Again, one of these days

Well, once again, the Universe bites me in the rear. It looks like I'm probably not going to be able to make it after all this Saturday, as I now have to work. If I can get out early, I will swing up there, but like the last time I tried that, it was all over and done before I could get there. I'll ...

Re: Saturday, May 18th Bay Area (BARC)...Again, one of thes

Does Gareth get to play on ALL of the Motorhead songs? Wait. What ? I'm expected to play as well ? I weaseled out of that last year. I just come for the booze, chat, and to ogle the gear :D I'll bring the beast, which can actually take two inputs for two basses if desired, so you only get 500 watts...

Re: 2013: Another Bay Area (BARC)...Again, one of these days

Hi all, I am going to have to announce my regrets; a friend of the band I'm in (Smiling face down), and a personality in the local vintage bike scene with a lot of vintage motorcycleing friends, Karla Munoz, was killed a couple of days ago when a careless driver into the lane she was riding in. Smi...

I'm gonna have to bring The Beast again aren't I ? Better start lifting to get in shape.

2009 660/12

So there's a new addition to the family to go along with the '67 450 and all the basses. I've always liked the 12 strings, but I think the 660 has been a bit overlooked in favor of the 330 and 360 models. This one came along at a price that was just too good to pass up, so I snapped it up. I haven't...

The 450 returns

In record time too I might add. This was the hulk that I bought a few months back. It had been stripped of all hardware except the original Klusons and the truss rods, had the bridge mounting holes drilled all the way though the body, and was covered in layers and layers of thick black brush paint. ...

Re: BRIAN!?! How could you???

Ha. just poted this in the Markeplace. I have #26. The last one I saw on eBay went for 14K, so I hope you get a sale. For anyone considering it. If you can get the cash, get it. It really is more than just a pretty face, and way superior to any stock 4004 series bass..... Fastest neck and heaviest g...

Yep. I'm thinking a nice jetglo again. I'm pretty sure that's what it was originally....
