'R' tailpiece bracket - impossible to find?
Hi all, The mounting bracket (Rick catalogue no. 01112) to my 370/12 'R' tailpiece just snapped the other day. I had a seen a tiny crack but thought it was stable. Seems impossible to get hold of one, at least for me in Europe. All EU dealers list the piece as out of stock, and Rickenbacker themselv...

Re: REM Broke Up!!!
See if this link works: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1pv7f7y7ym2d3c0/REM_Yokohama1984.mp4?dl=0 I have also (I think) identified the acoustic PB is using (see around the 13 minute mark). It's likely a Guild FS-46-CE os some kind. Like this one: http://www.guildguitars.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/guil...

Re: REM Broke Up!!!
Thanks for the correction, David! The footage is new to me, anyway. I'll have to search YouTube for the Yokohama, Japan show from the same year. 8) Hehe, sorry if that came across wrong, pointing out it had been around for a while. It is certainly cool footage! I'll see what I can do in terms of Yo...

Re: REM Broke Up!!!
Thanks, Werner, for this previously unavailable footage of R.E.M. in the middle of the "Reckoning" tour. The sound and video quality are excellent, and they capture a great band at the height of its powers. It would be hard to pick favorites, but the encores with Roger McGuinn and John Se...

Re: REM Broke Up!!!
Hello, does anyone know what happended to Peter's 340/6 MG used in UK and Germany in 85? I don't believe it has been used since and seems to have vanished from his guitar arsenal. Could it possibly have been loaned to him for the European tour? thanks Interesting query! You are right that there are...

Re: R.E.M. Biography
Haha, can't help you I'm afraid. I have had the book since it came out but haven't read it. I liked the earlier REMarks book by Fletcher, but I think I am partial because it was the first REM book I ever got. I will be interesting to read a book going all the way up to the split though. My favourite...

Re: Peter Buck gear
Guess most of you will have seen this, but if not... This was posted on the official Rickenbacker Facebook page earlier today: "Just finished up a very special 360 JG this week for Peter Buck for his upcoming tour with Alejandro Escovedo! Check out the Bigsby and unfinished fretboard." htt...

Re: REM Broke Up!!!
Bryan, is this you playing with Kevn for the REM tribute thing in 2011? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5DTbWGo7ek Great version of the song, and an amazing show. I travelled over to Athens (from Sweden) for that weekend with a whole bunch of great REM events; the concert, film showings, release par...

Re: RIC Content on Jay Leno
Wow! Being a massive R.E.M./Peter Buck fan, I obviously watched this. Saw the Rick acoustic and thought - when the hell did he get that?! I think I have a rather good knowledge of Peter's gear, and was susprised I had never seen nor heard about this one before. But here was the explanation then... C...

Re: R.E.M. Live 1982
David, The bulk of the material on this bootleg sounds so different from the stuff on "Chronic Town" and "Murmur," that when I first heard it, almost 30 years ago, I assumed the majority of the songs were cover tunes. Is there a reason the majority of the songs here never made i...

You even posted in the earlier thread about it, Robert! http://www.rickresource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=405555&hilit=raleigh It certainly deserves a repost though, so thanks! It's a nice one. As you may remember, video of a February 1981 show also surfaced last year. It has now...

Re: Peter Buck - Brand of 12 Strings
There's been a lot written about Pete's choice of strings for his 360, but I've never seen anything about his favorite strings for his 360/12. :( Does anyone happen to know? If not, anyone have a favorite brand string for their 12? I'd like to hear you input. :D I've only even used the the Rickenba...

Re: New '81 R.E.M. footage - earliest footage to surface!
Didn't get a chance to ask Peter about Begin The Begin. He had actually made comments to other people that he wasn't that interested in talking about R.E.M. matters now, "I'd rather talk about what I'm doing now", which I guess is understandable. I did however (and you can imagine how cool...
