Re: 360/12c63 or a C series 325?
...which of the 2 would you recommend to a guy in a 1 classic rock band, 2 punk bands, a jazz ensemble and plays at blues bars? That's quite a bit of ground for any one guitar to cover. Let alone one being a 12 string and the other a short scale. I'm guessing for the vast majority of guitar players...

Re: Cursed humbuzz!
Maybe the outlet you're plugging into is not properly grounded. The outlet might also be on the same circuit as the refrigerator, a dimmer switch, florescent or neon lighting. Those kinds of things can be a problem especially if you live in an apartment or older house. Another possibility is the amp...

Re: Modern Rickenbackers and low E strings
it's been several years now, maybe even as long as a decade since they changed the gauges. I don't think it effected the tension or string spacing in any dramatic way.

Re: 370 neck finish
That could also be from the walnut and maple woods of the neck expanding or shrinking at different rates, due to abrupt changes in temperature or humidity. I wouldn't be too worried about it but best to keep an eye on it. My 360/12 gets this periodically but the guitar is over 20 years old and the n...

Re: Pickups: Toasters vs. Hi-Gains
There have been several versions of both types of pickups over the years so that may complicate the debate somewhat. To be perfectly honest though, I don't hear that much difference between any of them. They all sound like Rickenbackers to me.

Re: What was the best Rickenbacker model made?
I want to agree with Peter here, the 360/12, New Style, 24 fret is the epitome of Rickenbacker design and my personal favorite. But as far as "best" I would have to go with the 4001. Because it is probably the most consequential Rickenbacker model.

Re: String Issue on 330
Right, but if you raise the pickup too far, the pole piece can physically touch the string.jakemackie wrote:I raised the pickup as a way to make it sound bigger, it sounded flat before i had raised it.

Re: String Issue on 330
Maybe you raised the pickup too much and it's interfering with the string. If the problem goes away when you fret a note, it's probably the nut slot. If it doesn't then the problem is down at the bridge somewhere. A poorly seated bridge piece or badly filed string slot. As said above, a dead string ...

Re: The "I Got The 360/12 Tailpiece Restringin' Blues"
If you're just changing one string, after you seat the string into its slot, stuff a rag under the tailpiece to hold the string in place. Another technique you can try is to pull the string taught and capo it.

Re: Unwinding high gains
Are these pickups fiber-tops by any chance? The top of the bobbin being a flat, matte finished fiberboard. The neck pickup of the pair was wound super hot, 15K sounds about right. They may not be your cup of tea but believe it or not there are players out there looking for fiber-top hi-gains. Maybe ...
