Re: Is this an original? 1964 rose morris. $?

I noticed a comment about certain Rose Morris guitars being shipping to the UK only. It's not correct because all Rose Morris guitars were shipped from CA to the UK only. From there, they were distributed to various countries in Europe and the daughter company, Rose Music here in Australia. Not tru...

Re: Awsome Old Ric accessories catalogue

I thought that it is still available in the same model. I possibly have an email in my possession from RIC marketing indicating (and I quote) that "the Thong remains the same".

The Saints live in Sydney, circa 1977

The bassist has a Rick, but you can't hear it, nor really the drummer much either, cause of Ed Kuepper's absolutely righteously awesome SG guitar sound. "Don't need no one to tell me what I don't already know"! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9dzTUYsGU0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKEg1...

Here's one of what is apparently one of Gatemouth's Capris, sold by a German music shop recently. Well used.

Re: Where to go for vintage Rics on Denmark St?

Thanks for all that advice. I have memories of one small shop in Denmark Street when I popped over in 2007 that had 4-5 very nice vintage Ricks. Certainly pricey, but much cheaper than Rue Victor Masse here in Paris. Can't recall the name. I guess the big advantage is one can actually handle and pla...

Where to go for vintage Rics on Denmark St?

I'll be in London for a few days for work but should be able to sneak out for an hour or two. Which shops do people reconmend these days? And how flexible are list prices in Blighty? Any help much appreciated.

Weight of vintage rickenbackers

I've always wondered about weight of vintage Ricks - the Capri/330/335/360 range. What are average guitar weights like? What sort of range is there in weights within the same model? Obviously denser woods give a higher weight for a given model (since components will, I assume, be less variable in we...

Another "Roger" guitar on sale from down home, same Kiwi seller as the one above, this time with an "R" (non-Rick) tailpiece - looks a bit like one of those solid body Gretsches from the late 50s. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Music-instruments/Instruments/Guitar-bass/Acoustic-electri...

Very interesting thread.

I note there's one for sale down home:

$1200 USD starting price. I doubt he'll get bids at that price domestically.

Re: another color question

To clarify Paul's point a bit, as a man - he may be great or otherwise - once said not so long ago: As we know, there are known knowns. There are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unk...

"It was the guitar Paul Maroon had been searching for his whole adult life: a Rickenbacker 360 Capri, made in 1959, with twin pickups, a rosewood fretboard and a hollow maple body. It had been refinished in black, to look like a larger version of the guitar John Lennon played at the peak of Bea...

Let me make sure I have this one nailed. Linking to songs with swear words in appended comments, is out, but only if such comments appear on the first page of comments under the you-tube vids . Presumably because no member of the forum has access to a point-and-click facility on their computers to v...

Re: Model 480 body profile?

It is completely true, pace jingle-jangle, that the Rickenbacker International Corporation "enthusiastically and aggressively defend their designs against all comers" in the United States over a number of years. However, this is not, on the basis of my direct observation, the case in Franc...
