Groundhog, woodchuck, or whistle-pig whichever you prefer :D

New RIC Day

Had something really nice show up at my door this afternoon. Could'nt resist it. Music123 has some good deals on 330's , not as good as MF had but still worth looking at if you're in the market. I was looking for either a Mapleglo or a Jetglo and the Jetglo was $100 cheaper. 8)

Re: New Ric Owner(to be)

Your pics look fine, the soft lighting on the bass shows the MID color very nicely. :D Yeah I took a lot of pictures trying to get them to come out but the glare from the flash on the chrome and body was horrible so I used the very technical process of holding a piece of aluminum foil in front of t...

Re: Compact bass combo's

I have the Phil Jones Briefcase and just absolutely love it. It's nice and compact and I think only around 28 # with great tone as well, at least in my opinion. It is only 100 watts though if you were looking for something a little more powerful. I was going to buy a new one when I was trying them o...

Re: New Ric Owner(to be)

Ok I see that worked. I have used the D'Addario half rounds before and to be honest I didn't care for them, but then again I didn't try them on a Ric either. so I may have to give them a second chance.

Re: New Ric Owner(to be)

Hi, Well I received my new MB 4003 on 12/29. I only waited 24 hours to open it up since we had a brief bit of warm weather when it was delivered and it had sat in the UPS warehouse over the weekend. The finish is absolutely beautiful, the metallic blue finish is really stunning. I've spent the last ...

Roxy Music, Amazona

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQQvw3l2vJs Song from the "Stranded " album. Album notes says John Gustafson on bass, although I don't know if that's who this is or not since they have had so many bassists. I had just never seen a Roxy Music video with a Rickenbacker bass in it before. And ...

Re: can you PLEK a Rickenbacker? Have you done it>? results?

Don't they have to take the neck off of a guitar/bass to PLEK it? I was told that by the people at Lakland. I wonder if that would mean you couldn't do a neck through bass? No, they put the entire guitar in the machine during the process. I watched a video on youtube a while back that showed the wh...

Re: New Ric Owner(to be)

Thank you to everyone that replied with all the congrat's and welcomes to the forum, it's really appreciated. Joey, thanks for the advice of waiting at least 24 hours before opening the box up so the finish can acclimate, I promise I will do that, although it won't be easy. :) Take care everyone and...

Well , I did'nt ask about full width inlays, I just assumed they would be, but then again, that wasn't my biggest concern.

New Ric Owner(to be)

I have been in the market for a Ric Bass for the past year, searching ebay and ever other source I could find(including this one) for used or new Ric bass's and tonight I finally pulled the trigger on one and have one on order from Musicians Friend. I know they might not be the most popular place to...
