Pickup Selector Switch Problems

I have three Rics and two of them have problems with the pickup selector switch. That means 66% of the Rics I own have switch problems. Take it a step further: If I owned 100 Rics, 66 of them would have switch problems! The problems are: 1. the switch doesn't "grab" the pickup it is suppos...

Re: New member with a new Ric (to me at least)

Boy, that's a really fine looking Ric. The gold guards and gold-topped oven knobs sure go great with that AutumnGlo finish. Good luck with it.

Re: New Purple 360

Yup, no malice here. Just a thread about a purple guitar.
Hey, I have a Midnight Blue Ric. In certain light it actually looks close to purple!

Sure, he didn't want to start anything.

Re: New Purple 360

Go to Chicago Music Exchange's website and drill down and find the color chart .... So Chicago Music Exchange has a number of purple guitars for sale. I'm sure at one time they had a number of Zoot Suit SGs for sale, too. Bottom line is this: most of us here have been following music for decades. L...

Re: New Purple 360

Well, if you like purple guitars.... Who exactly likes purple guitars? If there were a huge public outcry for purple guitars, a notable increase in sales for purple guitars...wouldn't you think all guitar companies would be making a ton of purple guitars? But there is no public outcry or spike in s...

Re: New Purple 360

The purple finish looks great and certainly has the wow factor...but let's be honest, that feeling is going to wear off pretty quickly. It's a purple guitar! Unless you are a massive Minnesota Vikings fan or feel Prince was a deity in human form, a purple guitar really is without purpose. The initia...

Re: Neck ding/Fireglo

https://i.postimg.cc/v8jRL86S/IMG-0866.jpg I had a very small ding on my FireGlo Ric. Look at the truss rod screw and then look at 10 o'clock, right on the edge of the gully and just below the horizontal tuning peg you can see the repair I made. That spot was dinged and it was left with no color an...

That's a very cool pic, jps. And you did something that I've never seen in guitar/amps gear pics. You actually have powered up the amps. The little red jewels are glowing. Good idea.

Re: Rickenbacker To Stop Lacquering Fretboads Starting Now

Kind of upset over this. The "quirks" of the Rickenbackers are something that I seem to like. The lacquer meant I never had to worry about oiling up my fretboard...it drying out in winter months. The lacquer fretboard was also easy to play and one other thing -- it also looked really cool....

Re: Schaller compatable strap buttons for 2002 Ric

If you are going to replace the button, might as well place a felt washer under it. Those little felt washers come in various colors. Choose whichever color suits your guitar best. I put a pair of those felt guys on my 360/12. I find it odd that Ric doesn't use those washers. The metal of the button...

Re: Fall 2021: Best place to order a new Rick. . .

Have you tried negotiating a better price at your local store? I did that once. Needed a case for an Epi acoustic. My Ma and Pa store had the beautiful and sturdy one below: https://thumbs.static-thomann.de/thumb/orig/pics/bdb/187707/13333481_800.webp At the time those were going for about $150. Ha...

Re: Fall 2021: Best place to order a new Rick. . .

Sweetwater has serioulsy upped its Rick game in the last couple of years, I'm not gonna lie I've bought a few from them and they're killing it. Yes, but us musicians (even us bedroom players) are supposed to only buy from ma and pop stores. Pay more, sometimes worse service...but we are doing our p...
