Re: R-Tailpiece on 1965 360

Yes! Thanks, Ron et al. My tailpiece is rougher at the base of the R and squiggle than a modern 370, and the slots are differently shaped than moderns. It appears to be original equipment. I am grateful for the help.
Cheers!

R-Tailpiece on 1965 360

A few months back, I picked up a vintage one-owner 1965 360, reportedly with all original hardware. In considering a much-needed string change, I just noticed that there are 12 string slots in the R-tailpiece instead of 6. Is this actually a replacement part, or was the 12-slot used in all the model...

Re: Help with a TR 75 Stereo Amp...

Check out this page: http://jzu.free.fr/rick/amp/TRR.html

Your amp would be 1977 or some time after that. Sure, it's very likely worth fixing up. It might just need new speakers. Where are you located? If in the Northwest, I've got just the place for you.

Re: Rickenbacker 1950s/1960s Production Run Figures

So, only 36 360/12 OS were ever produced. These would be like the holy grail to me. I wonder who has them or if anyone knows to whom they belong? I'll probably never see one, let alone own one. I treasure my 360/12C63.

Unsticking Intonation Screws on 1965 360

A couple of the intonation screws on my 1965 360 do not turn, probably due to corrosion at the nut side (pictured here:

Any suggestions on how to manage this? Thanks!

Re: Recession and Rickenbacker Values

I agree. Putting my 360/12C63 up against my newly acquired 1965 360, I am amazed at the similarity and beauty of the Fireglo finish. The only thing better than a 360/12C63 repro would be a genuine item from that era, and we all know how rare they are!

Re: 1965 360 FG vs. "365-S"

I've just stuck the "new" vintage axe up in the guitar racks next to my 360/12C63, and I am struck at how the Fireglo artistry is almost an identical match. There must be some Renaissance master in the shop to do such a marvelous job at recreating a beautiful effect

Re: 1965 360 FG vs. "365-S"

Thanks for the info! Yes, I'm very pleased with the purchase. It would probably benefit from a set-up. The intonation is a little off, and the bridge screws are highly reticent. I'm hoping that they can greased back to life or something. I see one vintage bridge on E-Bay for $250 "Buy It Now,&q...

1965 360 FG vs. "365-S"

I became the proud owner of my first vintage Rick yesterday: a lovely September 1965 360 FG, pictured here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190427744967&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT If you look at the fourth thumbnail, there is a bit of a mystery. Inside the electronics cavity...

Flat-Wounds for Early '60's 360

I understand that flat-wounds would have been standard issue for early 1960's Rickenbacker 360's and the like. Does anyone know what current string brands and gauges might best correspond to the original equipment?

Hollies--- Seeking Tab for Look Through Any Window

While the Hollies did not necessarily use Ricks, they did employ a 12-string on various songs, and I find the 360/12C63 sounds great with their music. Has anyone tabbed Look Through Any Window (especially with Guitar Pro)? Would you be willing to share? Thanks!

A Tale of Two Books

People have been talking about the long-delayed new Rickenbacker Electric 12 String book by Tony Bacon, but no one has been saying what's in it. I read it cover to cover last night on the plane headed home from the East Coast and can attest to its virtue. It goes into intimate detail of the history ...

James' sweet rockabilly licks on the latter number prove the versatility of Ricks for playing numerous genres of music.
