Hipshot bridge and tuners for 4003
Fellow Rickoholics I know this has been probably been brought up so many times but was wondering a couple of things 1) Are the replacment Hipshot machine heads better than the Ric version 2) The hipshot bridge replacement, there are two types Brass and Alluminum. Is one better than the other. Whilst...

Re: My Best Friends: Dogs And Ricks: Photos, please!
Great photos of dogs and Rics, mustn't forget the Ric But here is my dog, his name is Reg named after PC Reg Hollis from the British TV series The Bill Reg is a Maltees X Shitzu, although when you see some of the landmines he leaves around the house he is much more Shitzu than anything else. Which r...

Re: General question regarding bridge earthing
Shield paint is conductive paint that you can paint into the control routings etc and make sure that it comes in contact with the control plate (to complete the shield) You should be able to get from Venue or some of the Paramatta road shops and could even try Smithy's I actually use a water bassed...

Re: General question regarding bridge earthing
You will find that with the DP123 pickups that the earth is vital. Whilst humcanceling the DP123 pickups are poorly shielded in the wiring department (ie none) and they buzz fairly badly. Even with the bridge earthed you will find that the DP123s get a fairly noisy "hands off" buzz. If yo...

General question regarding bridge earthing
This is not about my 4003 as the bridge is earthed, however I bought my self a Squier Fretless bass nearly a year ago, I thought it was a great way to try fretless cheaply incase I was hopeless at it.(Im not brilliant but I get by and fool a lot of people) Anyway I am about to fit Dimarzio DP123 pic...

Re: Straplocks on my Ric 4003
Hello Gary and all other repliees. I got it sorted, They must actually run a tap through the wood to create a thread, when it came out I thought it was a woodscrew but realisend it is actually a bolt. I had some PVA woodwork ( It called Aquadhere here in Aus), I decided to put some on a tissue then ...

Straplock problem on my Ric4003
I have a 2008 Ric and I have noticed that the straplock on the horn is not very secure, it tends to unscrew out of the body and this could have dissasterous results if not corrected. I have tightened it by hand. Unlike conventional straplocks that are a woodscrew throuth the end of the straplock the...
